To the hydrofoil!
Krusty, clothes torn, reacting in horror as a solemn Bart (with torn shorts, tribal tattoos, and a bow and arrow) tells him that a camper was eaten by a bear. Actually, the bear just ate his hat, but it was a nice hat.
(3/3) I don't know if Krusty's part in the story fully works, it seems out of character for him to care this much. It leads to a great ending, though, so no complaints.
Also love Homer and Marge's B-plot, as short and simple as it is. Don't be the boy, don't be the boy...
Bart and Lisa sleeping in downtrodden U.S. Army cots, cold and afraid.
(2/3) Revealing the camp as a disheveled sweatshop run by the bullies is good fun, classic Simpsons twist. No traditional "home away from home" stuff; it's basically a prison here. Leads to a decent Lord of the Flies-esque rebellion, although I much prefer Season 9's take on that front.
Barney, dressed unprofessionally as Krusty the Klown, waving hello while Mr. Black winces and pulls at his shirt collar.
(1/3) #Simpsons S4E01: "Kamp Krusty." An episode like this was inevitable, lampooning crappy summer camps (which are an American institution). I totally get why Jim Brooks thought this would make a great movie. As it is, it's a pretty good episode, although maybe a little too loose for me.
The Simpsons Complete Fourth Season box art, featuring the Simpson family, Ralph Wiggum, Santa's Little Helper, and Barney all crammed in the Simpsons TV. Snowball II is chewing on the TV wire.
It's #Simpsons Season 4 time! In which Marge fights the monorail, Lisa needs braces, Bart gets a bigger brother, and Homer doesn't go to church. This one's gonna be fun!
Maybe I can actually do an episode a day this time! Just saying that now for when I eventually don't.
Hey I'm in this same rockin' club too! We should have a secret handshake or something

Won't get the chance to play until tomorrow but if any of y'all wanna be on my island, hit me up! (Gender / romance / personality preferences would be very helpful)

Lou and Eddie clinking Flaming Moe glasses (currently on fire) in a woodblock painting style
Darryl Strawberry crying a single tear.
A younger Homer (more hair) and Marge (pregnant) worrying as Marge reads the mail.
Chief Wiggum angrily talking to Fat Tony as he plays cards.
That's #Simpsons Season 3 done! Not my favorite of the classic era but the hits are getting sharper. Favorites include:
- Flaming Moe's (so many incredible jokes)
- Homer at the Bat (obviously)
- I Married Marge (great follow-up)
- Bart the Murderer (come on, Fat Tony rules)
Homer sitting in a massage chair giving a thumbs up to Akira, the salesman. The rest of the family watches.
(3/3) Then it's punctuated by the Simpsons' search for a new couch, which ain't "Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence" material. It does give us a solid 2001: A Space Odyssey joke, though, so there's that.
I'd call this one wasted potential if there were any to waste to begin with!
Herb smiling and gently poking Maggie as she sleeps.
(2/3) Not wrong in a "this ruins O Brother" way, wrong in a "this shouldn't be the Simpsons" way. The baby translator solution is beyond stupid, and Homer and Herb's relationship is so ill-defined. Not to mention its uncynical "in America you just need a dream and money" message. BS then, BS now.
Homer and Herb awkwardly saying goodbye to each other outside the Simpsons house.
(1/3) #Simpsons S3E24: "Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?" I like this more than it deserves as it was a frequent re-run when I started watching the show but nostalgia aside, it's pretty weak. Bringing Herb back to "correct" his ending feels wrong. Not even Danny DeVito can save it this time.
Sideshow Mel sadly watching TV.

Homer lying in bed, patting his stomach while wearing headphones connected to a tape player.
(3/3) I find the Homer B-plot interesting in its depiction of how we treat obesity in America, trying to cure it with snake oil remedies. It's a pretty (pardon the pun) thin story, but also a nice contrast to the main story.
It's worth it for the Fuzzy Bunny sequence alone. She's faking it!
Milhouse and Samantha look at each other lovingly at their desks, while Bart mopes between them.
(2/3) Samantha Stanky's not really an interesting one-timer but I think that was the point. Here's a pretty ordinary kid's romance story (obsessed with kissing, parents disapproving, etc.) in a wacky Simpsons world. It could never last.
Side note: rot in hell, Kimmy Robertson.
Milhouse lies in pain on the floor while Bart holds a Magic 8-Ball.
(1/3) #Simpsons S3E23: "Bart's Friend Falls in Love." I always forget about this one. I've never been a one-shot Simpsons romance guy. But it's solid! I like that they gave Milhouse a spotlight so early on, and especially Bart's sabotage. It never comes across as mean, just childish. Right call.
Could you make it out to... Lou Dobbs?
