flipping through a proof of yet another book from a somewhat well known liberal voice diagnosing “where the left went wrong” and i’m struck, again, by the fact that a large part (if not most) of the liberal commentariat simply does not believe that the political right has agency.

Searing opinion from a federal judge on Long Island, who describes "police state"-like tactics by ICE to arrest peopleand draw up after-the-fact warrants.

He says DOJ is damaging its credibility with the courts by trying to shield ICE from scrutiny. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

I really appreciate @elizabethwithaz.bsky.social's reflections on how she explored the social impacts of technology with her students by introducing them to the people - the ghost workers - whose labor makes “AI” systems possible.

Just a professor standing in front of BlueSky demoralized because exams my students used to get a mean of 83% on prior to 2020 are now failed in large numbers. It seems that their ability to APPLY concepts to new contexts/domains has all but disappeared.

I love these students & I am worried.

Done with this. I predicted two years ago that Dems ignoring Dearborn would lead to our defeat.

This time, Black voters are beyond tired. We are fatigued. Fewer Black Silent and Boomer voters this cycle. Black Millennial and GenZ voters do NOT feel beholden.

Argue with your mama. I’m done talking.

We would be self hating if we did not notice how we’re being used.

I noticed this persistent antiblackness, covered in performative concern, in the summer of 2020. Some in my field are still quietly holding what I said against me; I don’t care. Time has proven me right.

I am tired. We are TIRED.

By targeting sugar molecules found on the surface of many viruses that share structural similarities- even across UNRELATED virus families- they identified FOUR compounds that successfully BLOCKED infections from SEVEN different viruses. Unlike bacterial infections, which are often treated right

Zohran Mamdani on CBS — “Socialist politics can flourish anywhere, because there is only one majority in this country, and that is the working class. It’s time we have a politics that puts them at the heart of what we’re doing, not in the appendix.”

America’s Mayor can’t miss.

How is it Trump's nominee for the IAEA, a key nuclear inspection agency, didn't know that both the IAEA AND Trump's 1st Admin certified that Iran was in compliance with the JCPOA?

The JCPOA was preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Trump ripped it up & started a war.

Noah Wyle also banned cellphones on the set and brought in a lending library that everyone can contribute to. He said the background actors are the best read people in Hollywood right now.

After intense lobbying, Trump signed executive orders to fast-track data center construction and weaken state-level AI regulations.

AI firms are also pumping huge sums into our elections.

I spent a couple of hours with family and comrades. Elders started talking about Black people and socialism and communism in the South. I would pour this into people’s veins if I could.

Senate rejects effort to halt arms sales to Israel, but most Democrats vote to block them More than three dozen Democrats supported an effort by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders on Wednesday to block arms sales to Israel, signaling a growing discontent in the party with Prime Minister Benjamin ...

40 Senate Democrats voted for Sen. Sanders’ bill to block arms sales to Israel, a 50% increase in Democratic support from the last Senate vote.

But in yet another act of failed leadership, Schumer voted against the bill — along with Blumenthal, Coons, Cortez Masto, Fetterman, Gillibrand, and Rosen.

Disney's new CEO, whose pay package is worth nearly $45M, just announced 1,000 layoffs.

Reminder that Disney paid an effective federal income tax rate of ZERO in 2025 and aims to buy back $7B of its own stock in 2026.

This is what corporate greed looks like.

I adore Max so I say this with respect: this is the wrong line of questions

The correct one is: what are the political conditions in Maine such that he is more popular than his opponents with working class white folks *and* POC despite his problems? Why don’t the Dems do better talent development?
