(8/8) Final Thoughts
Frankly, the biggest thing that holds the series back is Hartman's over inflated ego. He says it in the behind the scenes. Nick was looking for a boys action show and he jumped on it. He was only in it to snatch up the position as opposed to making something interesting.

(7/?) MM cont. I hate to keep comparing it to Spectacular SM but, it's a good example of how this can be done in the 2000's, the mystery of Green Goblin is well done. Vlad could've been a recurring character before his introduction as a villain. He's a billionaire, have him be a big name in town.

Vlad is a major wasted opportunity. The same episode he's introduced, he's revealed as Plasmius. Which, there's no excuse for it when he's got the leg up on Danny with his ghost form appearing radically different from his human side. There could've been a phenomenal arc there!

It's not like there isn't a precedent for this in super hero shows in 2004. Spider-Man TNAS debuted a YEAR before this. Mind you, it's more mature, which isn't what I'm expecting. John Semper said it best; good stories can be told without people bleeding, puking or dying.

a few episodes later. Despite the nagging from Sam, he doesn't change. Like, I understand he's a teen, and he's not supposed to make good choices all the time, but nothing changes. Spectacular Spiderman is a great example of how those small character arcs are essential.

Following on the secret identity theme. Danny's abuse of his powers is never given any real consequence. Easy example; Splitting Images, Danny gets a taste of his own medicine for harassing his bullies with his powers. He learns from it, then does it again--

Coming back to Spider-Man, the drama is when Spider-Man succeeds, Peter Parker usually fails and vice versa. When Danny Fenton fails, Danny Phantom isn't really affected and vice versa. There's no real drama there, which could've made the series far more engaging.

Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom are virtually the same, and not just in appearance. I'm not gonna comment on the names being similar, my point is unlike someone like Spider-Man, there's no real dichotomy between the two. There's no interference between the two.
