New book on Transformative Practice in HE, what a great way to celebrate spring in the air... don't mind if I do π
The webpages & workshop I developed for EPC colleagues are live: www.mmu.ac.uk/about-us/pro... Thanks to all who supportedπ·. Next steps: a focused area on under-represented voices, where to share, ethics & autoethnography π. Take an authentic approach that works for you πππ @manmetuta.bsky.social
I worked with the Dept Ed Lead from Manchester Fashion Institute & pals from @manmetdigied.bsky.social to provide guidance around constructive alignment & effective rubrics this week! Both can be a challenge in creative disciplines so it's vital that context insights shape our conversationsπ
The book I've been working on with my JLDHE pals is due to be released soon!!! It builds on the Compendium of Innovative Practice and documents the lasting impact the changes we made during COVID 19 had on teaching and learning across the HE sector. So excited to be part of this shorturl.at/zA1dh
Man Met colleagues - we have a Miro for Active Learning Masterclass taking place this week on Wednesday, 12 to 1 in person and on campus with Dee and Emily from the Digital Education team. Register for the event: mmuintranet.mmu.ac.uk/Interact/Pag...

The opinion piece I wrote with my good pal Craig Morley has been published today in the Journal of Learning Development in HE. We call upon respective professional associations to do more in community with one another to support third space staff to progress: journal.aldinhe.ac.uk/index.php/jl...

Had fun teaching our core module with Gladson Chikwa today on the PGCert. I love how Gladson merges warmth & professionalism to support our learners. Also, the 'PSF pegs' activity we borrowed from @mairbull.bsky.social's creative leadership session really got people to open up about their values πΌ
I am the new Programme Leader for the PGCert in Learning, Teaching and Assessment at Man Met. This means a lot to me. The way the Man Met teachers supported me as a student had a lasting impact on my life and my social mobility. It's not an easy task but I'll do my best, any advice greatly welcome πΌ
Good to connect on here and so great to see you and to hear your advice and insights into the challenges of defining the SoTL. I feel there is so much more to say about how EPC colleagues might navigate and contribute to SoTL as an emergent space. Looking forward to speaking about this again soon! π
Thanks for this π

Really enjoyed Bernard Lesiwski's talk: Educational Scholarship and Publication. He used the definitions of SoTL the Future Education Leaders generated together in my session and wove the disparate nature of our support and perspectives together with great insight and sensitivity πΌ
Hi Damien, I was a member of the Working Class Leaders network at my previous institution and would like to join from my new place. What is the best way to sign up again to hear about events etc? πΌ
Looking forward to this πΌ I have an opinion piece written with Craig Morley being published as part of this special issue. We argue that professional associations could play a more active role in supporting the progression of Third Space professionals across the bounds of their disparate fields π
I love this, thank you Valeria πΌ. It is a great way to ensure your audience grasp WHY you do what you do and what it means to you. Much appreciated π
Have fun Lee πππ
Thank you πΌ Such invaluable advice and I think authenticity really comes across and speaks to others. Much appreciated π

Today I am so proud to be supporting colleagues in Arts & Hums as part of their EPC development. Here I am with the Faculty Director of Education Helen McCormick at the start of the event. My workshop is on sharing your practice to develop esteem. If anyone has any tips for attendees please share π
I really enjoyed supporting the Future Education Leaders with Sharing their Practice through SoTL last week π Together they generated a concept of SoTL that acknowledged its cyclical nature as a reflective process and granted space for educators' own experiences and authenticity. Magic π
Thank you Sandra, I would LOVE to. I look forward to writing this π Hope you are doing ok πΌ
Get your #creativeHE hats on! The CfP for Playful Learning 25 is now open! Taking place 2-4 July 2025, U of Sussex, theme π₯Έ Surprise and Disguise. Ethos is to break the traditional conference mould, and offer a range of different types of talks and activities playfullearningassoc.co.uk/conference/
I spoke to Roger about using my favourite rocks to teach a PGCAP session 'Pedagogy on the Rocks'. It was great fun and I would recommend getting in touch if you want to share your practice in a fun and engaging way π
Really enjoyed delivering my 'Sharing your Practice through SoTL' workshop to the Innovation Scholars and Assoc. Scholars this weekπ Loved hearing about your creative approaches to sharing & seeing your SoTL pledges. Always looking to refine my support if anyone has tips or resources to recommend πΌ
Amazing photos Katharine π
My first Bsky post! Very excited to be delivering support on sharing your practice and SoTL for our Mcr Met Innovation scholars and our Future Education Leaders this week. Will let you know how it goes. Nice to see some familiar faces on here ππΌ
