A screenshot of the audiobook cover of Starlinghouse by Alix E. Harrow from the Libby library app.
The library has been on a roll with great audiobooks! Starling House by Alix E. Harrow was a spooky read. I love sentient spaceships & now apparently houses as well.
The characters, backstory, villains, family, & relationships were all fantastic along with excellent narration.

Oh no! I hope heโs feeling better soon.
Iโve stopped ordering from Cemetery Dance. I think they use preorder money on future projects to pay for past projects due to financial mismanagement. Iโm always waiting to hear theyโve gone under.

I didn't realize what a chonky book this was going to be. I might save it for after I graduateโฆ

A hardcover library copy of I Was a Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones lies on a brightly colored striped blanket.
I Was a Teenage Slasher by Stephan Graham Jones was a great read. I enjoyed the first person narration and writing style.
I was a teenager when Scream came out and this brought me back to all the slasher movie rules & jump scares in the dark watching horror movies.

Two exciting visitors to the feeder yesterday: a nuthatch and a woodpecker!
I havenโt seen the nuthatches for a little while, so that was exciting. The woodpeckers donโt really fit on the feeder, and I have cylinders for them, so Iโm always surprised when they pop in.

Time for margaritas and watering plants. I love my garden โค๏ธ๐น

The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen & Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
I can't wait to graduate so I can catch up on my physical TBR (I could stop buying books, but that's just a silly idea).

I love this so much.
A pink rose with the sun lighting up the petals from behind.
A pink rose I found in the garden this morning while puttering around.

I have so many ideas about what's happening!
Iโm a little over 75% done but I can already tell its going to be hard to wait 11 months for the 3rd book. ๐ฑ

This is a very cozy and aesthetically pleasing corner. I love it!
Lawmakers in DC: hear us roar! ๐ข
Nurse leaders took the fight to #AbolishICE to the streets of our nationโs capital today โ because our patients and communities deserve care, not terror!
Whose idea was it to try to get a master's degree and spend Sunday writing a paper and creating a budget analysis? Is it too late to change my mind? Can I quit with only a semester and a quarter left?
I guess I'll keep plodding along.
Oversized human and cat skeleton in the center of garden boxes and planters with large trees in the background. Smaller skeletons are sprinkled throughout. It's a very normal year around skeleton garden.
Also, I think the power guy was a little surprised to come into our backyard and see my garden full of skeletons. You can only see it if you're in our house or yard, so I don't normally have to explain it to people ๐. Of course the power was off so he didnโt get to see the glowing eyes.
The pole stopped glowing when my husband turned off the breakers.
The power company says power will be back on at 2:30 a.m., but nobody is working on it.
In the meantime, we are hanging out watching Stranger Things on my laptop and eating DoorDash for dinner.
A storm came through this afternoon & a branch fell onto the power lines, disconnecting the line from the pole in our yard & causing downed lines in our neighbor's yard. The pole started glowing & sparking, and the power to our house started buzzing & the lights dimmed & brightened.
I don't think the anger management classes are working.
That seems like a red flagโฆ
A yellow mug with ice and hot chocolate, a library hardcover of I Was a Teenage slasher by Stephen Graham Jones, and a cruffin covered in chocolate on a paper towel
I've given up on today. Iโm going to read, eat this cruffin and drink my hot chocolate spiked with Baileyโs.

Wow! I loved this book and devoured it in a couple of days. Now I have to get caught up on homework before I can listen to the next one.
I love the characters & their connections, the monsters, the mystery of what's happening and who did what to whom. So fun!

A small sweet pea plant wrapping around a metal trellis.
This poor little sweet pea has been dug up twice by squirrels, but here it is, still trucking along. Today it grabbed the trellis!
Just showed Youngest Teenager how to filter the Libby app by audiobooks available to borrow without a waitlist. Heโs delighted and has already come back to tell me the book he borrowed is off to a good start.
I love how technology has made the library more accessible.
Life in 2026 is essentially just having full blown Gollum conversations with yourself about buying basic household items every single day

But we shouldn't
But they tears so nicely precious

The nice parents probably go in and watch the end of swim practice. I sit in my car and read scary stories.
I Was a Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones is off to a great start. I like the first-person narration a lot.
