I can be pedantic and seeing people use an apostrophe for a plural winds me up in a way that is completely disproportionate. But we don't need them for possessives anyway. Clearly people don't get it and not having a possessive apostrophe for 'its' just makes things more confusing

It doesn't need to exist, in spoken english everyone knows whether you mean a possessive or a plural
