sorry we only deal with crimes that fall between the threshold and maximum values.
love how this guy uses the qualifier "As a Republican" to explain his most intellectually incurious, dishonest behavior. that little apology goes a long way, and i'd like to see more of it
*looks left* (pretty soft)
*looks right* (gulp)
"maybe we try a little warmup warmup impeachment to start?"
Hell ya
there are so many reasons not to read your email. today i pick cybersecurity
are we sure these data aren't confounded by contamination from laboratory plastics?
4x4 arrays of reaction chambers made with microfabricated PDMS on glass. Each reaction chamber is individually addressable and dead-end filled, with chamber dimensions 3x3x0.01 mm (90 nL volume). chambers are filled with dye solutions to check for cross-contamination between wells
only weird things only
Cell papers (probly) average >200 figure panels. It’s not… you can’t…
Journals sell citations and signal prestige. They are not guarantors of quality or even accuracy
no they very seriously do not care what you put in the supplemental
how you gonna buy a $2M house on $250k/yr income? by already being rich, that's right
"Scumming reagents from labmates is a time-honored tradition and the cornerstone of practical science."
- Gemini (who has never had the pleasure)
agreed lol
a truly ethical AI would be adversarial to its own creators. Which is exactly why no company will ever build one.

Claude lecturing me on copyright protections over the leaked Claude Code repo so i had to remind it that Anthropic lost the biggest copyright infringement lawsuit in history with more in the pipeline.
An obvious structural flaw in our system is requiring supermajority senate votes while only electing 1/3 of the senate every cycle. Voters can’t turn over enough of the senate to express their will. Blatantly anti democratic
Weak, unviable opposition is central to authoritarian takeover.
Racist feathers, I presume? Ruffle vigorously
UBI isn't necessary if we can fix the broken political economy. UBI isn't helpful if we can't fix the broken political economy.
for a while i thought he was a motivated useful idiot. he has revealed more quackery over time and i wonder if that was always there or if he's been accumulating it
there's just ALWAYS another ask. and i get it, we need members to do the work of running the union. but via the union we've failed to provide stable, livable contracts for our members and we spend our time suing our employer to follow through on deals to which they already agreed
this is what my union does and i find it very annoying and misleading. i guess it's the best you can do if you don't have real power, but it really highlights how little power you have and the need to obtain real power instead of endlessly organizing
i think they suck precisely because they failed to institute any reforms since 2008 that would put the country on a better path. they let trump get elected twice, they failed to hold anyone accountable from Trump 1, etc
little to be excited about, and that's reflected in their extreme unpopularity
and we severely distort the value of human life. this war has a casualty ratio over 100:1. we've got plenty of time to talk about the psychological impact on our soldiers and mourn every individual loss. that's not wrong, but it is completely incoherent considering how US/Israel fights
i get the impression that Democrats are excited for a big midterm win without any plan to fix the gaping holes in our system. thats why everyone across the political spectrum agrees the Democratic party sucks
I am mostly talking about RL and post training, ya. not splitting hairs. Thats where companies impose their intent on the base models.
LLMs are commercial products developed for primarily commercial objectives. The extent to which they mimic humans is a business decision
It’s not true tho
this war is already a strategic loss for the US and we haven't even begun our carefully telegraphed ground invasion. that'll result in a loss of soft and hard power that will set up the next 20 years of conflict and suffering around the world.
the recent Meta damages amount to 0.02% of the company's market cap. it's a green light
