He's announced that Hungary will join the European Prosecution Office so anyone in the country can be charged.

Magyar says he's starting work with the EU and NATO immediately.
"The EU doesn't have to worry anymore."
From new Hungarian Prime Minister PĂŠter Magyar's acceptance speech tonight. This is the absolute BARE MINIMUM platform for any Democrat running for President in 2028.

This brings to mind a novel I just finished - The Correspondent. The main character is a letter writer and some of the book focuses on how she writes and receives lovely letters from writers she admires. Such a beautiful and profound book.

Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

"If great powers abandon even the pretense of rules & values for the unhindered pursuit of their power & interest, the gains from transactionalism will become harder to replicate" -- Carney's speech at Davos is an extended criticism of the damage Trump is doing (though he's not mentioning his name)

The Sunday Editorial: Venezuelaâs fate is a warning for Canada
The U.S. military action to seize NicolĂĄs Maduro marks the formal debut of an imperial America
The Globe and Mail (Canadaâs sober, establishment, slightly centre-right paper): Trump plans to treat Canada as Athens treated Melosââthe strong do what they please; the weak suffer what they mustââand Canada must regard itself as in a ânational emergency.â

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Oligarchs are addicted to greed.
In 1982, there were just 13 US billionaires worth $14 billion.
Today, while 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, there are 903 US billionaires worth $6.8 trillion.
Enough is enough. We need an economy that works for all, not just the top 1%.
