Women in football have influenced printed fanzines many times. Right now it is being boosted tremendously by women’s football, leading the way in terms of new single club zines in print. @manutdwomen.bsky.social Barmy Article ( @barmyarticle.bsky.social ) was the first to appear, now on issue 18.

I mean the anticipated backlash of a player coming out as gay. Your sympathy of a player feeling pressured to wear a rainbow compared to the pressure on a gay player to conceal his true self
Next day delivery includes the football coverage too
It's likely there are some gay footballers in some of these squads, but because of the anticipated backlash demonstrated whenever support is attempted, they stay silent. 92 league clubs with squads of 20+ and only 1 gay player is highly unlikely to reflect reality.
Nobody was made to wear anything, they were asked and were allowed to refuse. Nobody's freedom of speech was impeded. Visual symbols of support are actually extremely common and make a huge difference to those being supported, as shown by countless anecdotes
I'd wear a jacket/armband to support your right to practice a religion without facing prejudice even though I'm an atheist.
"Religious beliefs" is far too often used to downplay the impact of admitting they're actually personal beliefs.
The investment justification reminds me of the ST renewals that blamed price increases on "Roy Keane's £52k a week contract" and subsequently the purchase of Rio Ferdinand

#MUFC might as well go the whole devil vibe and charge £666*
Wouldn't surprise me if they suddenly start caring about #MUWomen when next season's prices are discussed
*Disclaimer: Don't!! We all know you would if you could get away with it.
Too much 'content creation' rather than covering the actual goings on of a football team. Multiple pop ups selling the latest gear whenever you open the app or website. The best thing to attract and retain fans (and their money 🙄) is just by being really good at football
The talk of Amorim wanting to restrict media engagements should be applied throughout the club, #MUWomen included. The whole social media vibe seems to be that everything, including the football, is there to maximise interactions rather than the football being the primary focus
Then #mufc men embark on a new chapter. A lot of the promises are similar to those when EtH was imminent, but the head coach title, the smooth recruitment process, feels more promising. Allow yourself to get excited.
Big day for Utd today. First, after sub par performances, #MUWomen play Chelsea at 12. A win is a big ask but has been done before, chance to show what we're capable of. Performance and fight is key. Doubt either result will have a huge impact on the future of Skinner, he needs big changes to stay

Turns out #MUWomen are capable of resembling a football team. Onto the weekend.....
Anyway, pint soon? A real life one?
Never expect a win to justify a journey, never hope to lose to get a manager sacked. Travel because it's great to support your team. Managerial situations will sort themselves out
If not for promoting the fanzine if have binned Twitter long ago, but even though I'm still on it, I don't post anywhere near as much as someone promoting something should. I mostly just don't want to be on there
My book came out at a terrible time, really. Was relying on my own Twitter to plug it, but then they removed my verification and reach plummeted as a result. So buy my book for a Christmas present or something. It’s a bit cheaper now anyway.
