Dying

I don't get any reception so I use to the app to watch live tv and this is not working at all anymore. Select "channels" and just a blank screen. Great job, team!
In 2019 I was on a long haul flight watching the movie Brave. The scene where the daughter thinks she's lost her mom forever had me bawling. Like, gushing tears and sobbing. My mom died in 1983.
I cried in that Lion King scene as well. It gets better but it can still bite you w/ no warning.
Something fitting about a party which has spent this term trashing Wellington at every opportunity being consumed today with internecine dramas, indifferent the city's attempts to dig itself out from a disaster.
Catching up on the ole Bluesky feed after work and it's 50% posts about the batshit crazy Orioles game and 50% posts about Luxon surviving the confidence vote. My feed contains (two) multitudes. #birdland #nzpol
I work in an office with an open floor plan (kill me now) so when a coworker started complaining about getting an AI slop filled email from someone at least three people said "Oh, was that from "Bob"? So, be warned, you don't seem smarter, you just seem like a person who can't write an email.
HA! I never got a reply from New World beyond a canned "Thanks for your email, someone will be in touch" but I saw whole meal spaghetti in there today. I AM VINDICATED.
The bright side of a rainy day is the absolute joy Deanie cat takes in venturing out into the weather then coming home to be vigorously towel dried. And then immediately going back outside. Rain doesn't slow her down the tiniest bit.
America is the frog in the pot of water that is boiling so hard it's splashing over. Kids out there raising money so they won't get shot in school. What's their pitch? "Please buy my candy bars so I won't get my head blown off during recess."
A Facebook acquaintance posted a fundraiser her daughter is doing for school. Not for a charity but for "enhancing school security with a state-of-the-art front vestibule." For a private Catholic school with tuition starting at $9K a year. Maybe pay for a new door with that money.
"Men, you are about to embark on a great crusade to stamp out runaway decency in the west. Now you will only be risking your lives while I will almost certainly be risking an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor." #BlazingSaddles
"Chewing gum on line, eh? I hope you brought enough for everybody."
"I didn't know there was gonna be so many"
*gunshot*
"Boy, is he strict."
"Baby, please, I am not from Havana." #BlazingSaddles
"Oh baby, you are so talented. And they are so dumb." #BlazingSaddles
๐ถ Are we to stay or up and quit? There's no avoiding this conclusion, our town is turning into shit ๐ถ
"To tell a family secret, my mother was Dutch"
It's Friday night and I'm home from happy hour. Watching Blazing Saddles for the umpteenth time. I love this movie unreservedly.
This whole hot water cylinder thing has been a big, fucking expensive experience but on the bright side I have found a good electrician.
And before you mention kids she lives alone. And despite all the laundry she almost never dries anything on the shared clothesline. Again, not a problem, I'm just consumed with curiosity.
The walls in my building are very thick and I hear little from my neighbors. But when it's quiet I can hear my upstairs neighbor's washer/dryer. It's not really a problem but I can't figure out why she does laundry seemingly 18 hours a day?? Is in home laundrette her side gig? I have questions.
As a woman, I offer my sympathies to the Pope who is now being told hourly by very many random men what he actually means
I lived in Augusta, GA for a few years and my only memories of the Masters is how many colossal douchebag bros invaded the town during the tournament. So, hats off to you, young female hospitality worker, you've made it through another season of creepy old dudes hitting on you. I hope.
Damn Tubi. Got me tearing up about Benson leaving the Tates to go work in the governor's mansion.
Can she change her user name to a man's name or at least initials? Women get overcharged for stuff all the time.
Made pizza using frozen naan bread as a base. Yes, I am feeling like a genius right now.
It's a bit surreal to read about emergency evacuations beginning in Whakatฤne due to the incoming cyclone while here in Wellington we're having a glorious autumn day.
A good commute is life changing. Your life will improve in a 1,000 ways, congratulations!
But just thought that I now have a job with plenty of leave so at least sitting around waiting for electricians and plumbers won't actually cost me money. Hooray for working in Aotearoa NZ and not the US!
