the thing i miss the most about livejournal is that 1) i got to learn how to be a person on the internet inside a locked cage of my own making 2) and i got to know all the little side characters and lore of your life. you can't get into the real stuff in blippy little public posts. i yearn
every day i yearn for the mines (livejournal)
One thing you will never think after reading a great book or listening to a great album or seeing a great piece of art is, “I’m really glad this person remained cautious while they were making this and guarded against being perceived as weird.”
if i lived in popeye town and one day i saw a ropy little sailor punch a huge guy so hard his skeleton flew out of his mouth thats the only thing i would talk about for the rest of my life
livejournal return..... return livejournal
the thing is that bsky thinks they can get away with anything because we're a captive audience. we're obv not going back to twitter and threatening to move to mastodon is a clear lie because who the fuck wants to move to mastodon
totally!!! i think having money already set aside as 'leave money' could really help take the mental pressure off so it doesn't feel like you're losing anything by taking off, liz! if you do figure out what works for you please share!
i like this idea - i tend to budget by 'pre-saving' for things i know i will have to spend money on (car insurance, haircuts, christmas, etc) with the qapital app. that way i don't have any guilt when it comes time to actually use that money for the intended thing. something similar might help??

i am used to being very independent for my own entertainment/self-care and a lot of times the ones making plans but i basically just texted the group chat like 'i got the misery zoomies someone help me' and ended up chasing around my friends' kids at the zoo for hours in the sunshine. i am healed 🌞
i tried many things yesterday to crack my foul mood but kept getting thwarted (nap interrupted by phone call. groceries delivered but power went out for nine hours and had to throw away meat. little walk to get coffee treat but coffee treat was gross) but i finally cracked it today, thank god
ugh thank you lovely ❤️ it's fine, just a very frustrating day yesterday and then a party next door kept me up all night and THEN we had a mystery man break into our building in the middle of the night, lol 🤪 think he was just drunk and lost but it's been a whole thing, had to have the police out 🫠
slightly better now though because i got the satisfaction of righteously knocking on a stranger's door to talk to them and got to be soooooooo nice and sooooooooo southern while i think hot blood was (metaphorically) pouring out of my eyes
in a mood so foul it should be buried like nuclear waste
a square image of dr robby from the show the pitt wearing a pink birthday crown that says happy birthday. he is surrounded by gradient pink and blue letters that say 'getting older is the pitts.' he looks very sad.
hosting a watch party for the pitt finale tomorrow and it is also my friend's bday so i made this cake topper for her cake. proud of this synergy. graphic design is my passion
new logo refresh for one of the best podcasts in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also always thrilling when serious smart people have to say the word 'blorb' on air. doing it for the love of the game
happy birthday!!!!!!
got the highest i've ever been in my life this weekend (made my friends watch the movie strictly ballroom and they all loved it). i'm never touching earth again

thank you so much!!!!
thank you sweet friend!!!!!!
💀💀💀 sometimes i do force myself just to people-watch and not be entertained by my phone when i'm in a waiting room or something but EIGHT HOURS??? EIGHT HOURS??????? i admire her courage. although perhaps she just did not know her phone was capable of doing anything but screaming
not only was it a ringtone, it was a ringtone that also included the sound of birds chirping loudly at the same time. a sensory nightmare!
i am the same! i was just talking about the book with someone earlier and trying to describe her writing style; sometimes i find her stuff to be almost like. hard to follow?? sort of slippery with characterization?? but her worldbuilding is so beautiful and when it hits it's sooooooo wonderful
i'm only like 25% through according to my ereader but i'm having an incredible time. natasha pulley worldbuilding does it again!!!!!!!!!!!!
although in better news i'm finally hooked on a book again with the mars house. i bounced off the first chapter because reading about flooded cities and people getting evacuated from rooftops makes my katrina-rotted brain feel insane ! !! ! but i gave it another go and i'm in baby!!! books!!!!!!!
on my way back on the train today i sat next to a woman who read nothing, listened to nothing, watched nothing for the entire 8 hour trip. just raw unfiltered train. her only enrichment seemed to be fumbling in her bag every 20 minutes when she got a spam call & her phone SCREAMED a jangly ringtone
if you voted for them in the observer awards you will not be seeing heaven
just so many google image search tabs open about chicken wings, like a real pervert
