My grandpa loved the Wallace and Gromit films. I remember seeing Curse of the Were-Rabbit at the dollar theater with him as a kid. So we are checking out some more of them tonight.

Truly one of the best 💜

He supported my bookstore dream wholeheartedly. He and my grandma who passed in October are going to be on the founder’s plaque. I just wish they could have seen it in person.

I’ll be deep in my emotions for a while. I need to keep pushing for my business, but I feel flattened. This isn’t fair.

He (and my grandma whom we lost in 2018) was the most supportive person in my life. When some of my parents were missing my concerts and basketball games, they would be at every one despite living a state away. He moved me into my college dorm in 2015, and has been cheering me on through grad school

This one was extra difficult. My grandpa was a Methodist minister for most of his life. When I started coming out as bi and losing friends and family over it, he talked me through my pain and loved me for who I was. He didn’t believe lgbtq+ folks were damned and often fought other pastors over it.

Yesterday, I said goodbye to the third grandparent I have lost in 6 months. To say I’m feeling kicked by life would be a massive understatement.

I’m soooooooo almost done with grad school, and then I can focus full time on bookstore things (including the mini press I plan to launch 👀). But this last paper is like walking over coals. Not because I don’t like the subject, but because I am so very burnt out. I need the longest nap.

I love creative collaboration so much bc like I can give the most busted sketch/idea to an artist and they turn it into something magical. Or! I tell my spouse to pick me some strands of beads at the craft store, and end up designing my favorite bracelet ever.
