Just because something doesn’t affect you personally, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about it. We, as humans should desire to see others free from suffering

I absolutely agree with this! It’s so sad that millions don’t.

Here's a great way to support indie authors without spending a dime. On Amazon and Goodreads, look up that author and follow them. You'll get updates on book releases. It's free and helps boost that author's profile. It would mean a lot to me if you could follow me on those sites. Thank you!

Happy Pride Month! 🌈
I hope we all agree that trans rights are human rights.

That’s my logic too! I’ve seen some people distinguish between indie author and indie published author. 🤔

I’ve always said I’m an indie author because I’m published by a small independent press. But is the term only applied to self-published authors now?

Genuinely curious; I don’t want to gatecrash a party I’m not invited to!

That makes sense! Usually for me, it just fits in like I’d planned it, so I love it.

Me: I’ll write this scene though it’s probably mostly here to link the important bits of the story
Also me: … Oh. So this is one of the most important and defining turning points in the MC’s whole character arc.

I seriously love when writing does this.

That’s cool, though! My favourite part is the first draft (which used to be a problem because I’d just write five first drafts instead of editing).

LGBTQIA+ Fiction Masterlist A masterlist of queer fiction books which can be sorted and filter by preferences such as genre, age group, representation, and romantic pairing.

Pride month is coming up, so here is my reminder that I have an LGBTQIA+ masterlist of books with queer main characters! You can filter & search by multiple preferences, such as genre, target age group, representation, pairing, and additional tags

Me neither, honestly, but it might make sense in the context. (When I call my own books diverse, it doesn’t have anything to do with genre, but with the fact that I am a queer, disabled writer whose books feature a diverse cast.)

At this point, I usually go through 5. Though, I often do a sort of testrun of the first couple of chapters that’s a sort of 0.5 draft and also edit a bit as I write. Not sure if my process is considered the normal amount, though.

To me, it means reading books by and/or about marginalised groups like those you mentioned.
But thinking about it now, maybe some people would define it as simply different genres? (I would call that eclectic reading, though.)

When they said Bluesky is like oldschool Twitter, they weren’t lying.

I like it here, but have no idea what I am (supposed to be) doing. 😅

Yes, absolutely!

(I am not saying that writers shouldn’t be paid for their work or look at numbers, by the way. But there’s the reasons we do this, and the factors that need to work for us to be able to do it.)

But when something I wrote makes someone feel seen, makes them feel better, that makes me feel so incredibly happy.

Publishing is exhausting and time consuming, but it is also incredibly rewarding.

I’m not talking about money or making the bestseller lists or anything like that.

I’m not even talking about readers enjoying my books (though that is absolutely fantastic too). (1/3)
