I just told my kids, “I don’t want to hear that either of you are ‘looksmaxxing’ when you should be ‘BOOKSmaxxing’ instead!” I’ll be riding that dad high for the rest of the week.

The site processed my purchase for a few hours and eventually sent me a refund. Oh well.
I’ve enjoyed books by far worse people (not you haha), but I get it. At least it’ll probably be streaming somewhere by summertime.
Ah, lame. That is disappointing. It’s a shame since the movie was fantastic and my kids found it really inspiring. It seems like the kind of movie that will get kids interested in science careers, so for me that more than balances out any stupid anti-woke nonsense. My $$ is already spent though.
Whenever I can I try to keep in the mindset of, “What’s in it for me is the good feeling I get from helping someone else.” Unfortunately that’s not always a motivator for everyone though.
Ah man, that's a shame. I used to love the animated show. When I went to check out the comic I realized "Oh, it's exactly the same. Neat!"
Things don't feel especially super down here, no. Then again, the worst thing I'm personally experiencing is higher food and gas prices. Stressful, sure, but there's probably plenty of other people having even less fun as a result of my government's increasingly insane decisions...home and abroad.
I literally get 3-5 of these every day. I have the screening and filtering options toggled on, and it has just become part of my morning routine to go through my voicemails and hit Report Spam on anything that contains the word "underwriting". It might as well just be a fancier red delete button.
I guess I finally have to get around to watching those Netflix Daredevil and Punisher shows. It’s been years since I watched DD seasons 1&2, so I’ll have to do a rewatch.
I mean, I love the show and the movie...but even with all of your very valid points aside...I don't think I would ever want any more Firefly without Wash.
Hopefully the first signs of the bubble bursting.
Also, I was just explaining Magnitude to my kids a week ago. Specifically the paintball episode where he "dies" before finishing his catchphrase. "Pop what, Magnitude?? POP WHAT!? WHAT IS HE TRYING TO SAY???"
This game is an absolute steal at $2.99. Grab a copy for yourself and one for any friend who likes high octane platformers. If the two of you can manage to play on the same wavelength? Whew, it's like a beautiful ballet of exploding meat products. The co-op is unlike anything I've played since.
Back in 2013 a buddy and I were occasionally doing a fun YouTube thing together. Twisted Pixel saw our episode about this game and retweeted it. I was never really a Twitter guy, but that was a nice interaction with a developer we loved. That game still holds up! RIP Twisted Pixel.
You’re hired. Please pick up your complementary stogie and arm garters at the front desk.
The gangster handbook clearly states, “when at all possible, end any sentence with ‘,see?’ Also, try to determine the nature of any ‘big idea’ if applicable.”
I think if you ended a sentence with "I" they would immediately strip you of your fedora and your tommy gun.
Pouring one out for game dev studio Twisted Pixel. Meta shuttered a bunch of their VR studios this week, TP included. @purenell.bsky.social and I agree that ‘Splosion Man was a wacky masterpiece, and TP retweeted a link to our episode about it…which was beyond cool. I hope they land on their feet!
It certainly won’t magically solve all our problems down here WHEN it happens…buuuuuutttt…I know a lot of us will breathe a little easier, to say the least.
Yep, that’s me. Thanks, I really appreciate that!
For whatever reason I felt like I could really get on Nick’s wavelength with that book. His writing made it easy for me to feel how the characters should sound, especially Dill.
Thanks!! I only narrated a few audiobooks in my time, but that was by far my favorite.
Like Jorji said, "things getting little crazy in Arstotzka." Uh, I mean...Glory to Arstotzka. ☹️
Okay, two hours in and I can tell that this is exactly the cozy-yet-addictive game I need right now (to escape from...y'know, just general current events). Thanks for being the final push to pick this up!
Yeah, this game is adorable. It's like Stardew Valley with some semi-simplified Factorio elements built in. I bounced off of Factorio myself...but I like Stardew Valley and I LOVED Satisfactory, which is kinda like a first-person 3D Factorio. I'm loving this one so far, $15 well spent!
I was literally sitting here, on the fence whether I was going to buy this game or not. This clinches it, immediate purchase
There’s a separate timeline out there where another me is a passionate video game history archivist. I’m so glad there’s people like the VGHF that hunt this stuff down and preserve it…
Stéphane Picq was the composer for probably my favorite DOS game, Cryo’s Dune. Last thing I saw him doing online was him excitedly pointing out a musical reference to his classic OST in the recent Dune Part 2. I never had the CD version, but damn did it sound good coming thru my SoundBlaster. RIP.
What a shame. My favorite soundtrack for a DOS game...probably my favorite DOS game. I remember he seemed genuinely excited to hear a musical reference to his Dune OST in the recent Dune Part 2. RIP
I've been looking for something EXACTLY like this! A friend and I might make a video playing through it at some point...I'll send you a link if we ever do. Thanks for taking the time to make this, even just the QoL options seem amazing!
