Again: the gun you keep in the home for “protection” increases your risk of homicide by 3-fold, of suicide by 5-fold, and for men, risk of suicide more than 10-fold

The second you bring a gun into the home you’ve dramatically increased the risk of death for your family 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

They’re not prophets. Not preachers. Not shepherds. They’re just Trump chaplains. Period. ⚠️ -Dr. Kevin R. Johnson @abyssinianbc #RevKevinJohnson #Idolatry #BlackChurch #TheTruth #WakeUp TikTok video by Kevin R. Johnson

Leave it to the Black Baptist churches to give the most rousing responses to the president’s blasphemy/idolatry/heresy/cerebrovascular oatmeal.

As little as I already thought of the man I'm in awe of what he's accomplished in 15 short months. Historic run. Basically threw away all his fire extinguishers and told every firefighter in town to eat shit, and then set his house on fire. We need a separate Mount Rushmore for morons

Why the Cassidy Hutchinson Investigation Should Make Us Very Uncomfortable I don’t know Cassidy Hutchinson, the former deputy to Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who flipped and became a star witness during the January 6 Committee hearings and who is now reportedly under investigation. I don’t have an independent basis for knowing whether she was completely truthful when she testified. Certainly, then-Congresswoman Liz Cheney and committee staff thought she was on the up and up, or they wouldn’t have offered her testimony.

It bears saying: We need to be skeptics when DOJ lets word get out that it’s conducting a criminal investigation, especially when the suspect is on Trump’s list of enemies.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

The World Health Organization urges the international community: do not ignore Sudan.
Sudan is confronting one of the gravest humanitarian and public health emergencies in the world today. More than 33.7 million people, over half of the nation's population, now require urgent, life-saving assistance.
The ongoing conflict has pushed the health system to the edge of complete collapse. Recent attacks on medical facilities have further deepened this crisis. On March 20, a drone strike on Al-Daein Teaching Hospital in East Darfur killed at least 64 people, among them patients and medical personnel, and left 89 others injured.
Just days later, on April 2, another drone attack struck Al-Jabalain Hospital in White Nile State, killing 10 medical and administrative staff, including the hospital's director while performing surgery, and injuring 22 people. On the same day, the Family Hospital in Al-Daein was looted, and patients and health workers assaulted and expelled from the facility leading to its suspension of work.
A hospital in the Blue Nile State city of Al-Kurmuk was looted on 25 March, the equipment were destroyed and staff and patients forced from the facility with one worker critically injured.
These incidents are stark reminders of the urgent need for renewed international solidarity and decisive political and humanitarian action. Sudan cannot endure this crisis alone.

U.S. Forest Service unveils extensive closures of research facilities Cost-cutting move is expected to cause resignations and turmoil

What will happen to the 82 USFS experimental forests around the country? Many sites have decades-long experiments that are tracking how forests are changed by timber harvesting practices and climate change. As I say here, “you can't just pick up an experimental forest site and move it to SLC.”

During Eid, a drone attack on a major hospital in Sudan killed at least 64 people, including children, nurses, and a doctor.

This is a catastrophic humanitarian crisis. The United States must use our leverage to stop these atrocities and help save lives.
