The Vegetarian was a story told about a person in snippets and memories of terrible but also very normal people. That really was the horror for me.

Invisible Women is a maddening book and a necessary lesson for everyone to understand the harms of data bias.

My current reads. The Silo saga is a fast paced dystopian series. I finished Wool and am now on Shift.

I'm also reading The Vegetarian, it is surreal and mysterious.

I missed a few commas and periods there so let's pretend I paused for clarity.

I can't ever find time to sit and read so I listen to audiobooks non-stop unless I'm working I very rarely watch TV or listen to music at this point. It was easy to go through them one after the other. I will not lie that I had to go back entire chapters a few times due to attention issues 😅

I've finally finished reading the series! I started reading this series out of spite, to follow the characters I loved after the show was cancelled. I'm so grateful for the warm welcome I received from the #WotSkies and #Booksky community. This was such an epic read!

Michael Kramer's Loial voice is the best! A very huggable voice. 🤩🤩🤩🤩 #WoTSkies #firstTimeReader #Booksky

I started "The Book of Delights" with no context. Ross Gay immediately launches into a vibrant essay detailing the delights of his birthday and I, with eyes beaming in half moons and nose scrunched in connected glee, proclaimed to myself with absolute certainty, "A fellow Leo!"

My reading list for this month. "The Girl with the Golden Parasol" and "The Book of Delights" are for Sep book clubs. "Like Water for Chocolate" is for early Oct.

For leisure: at Book 6 "Lord of Chaos" of WoT and hoping to start "Black Feminist Thought."

Wish me perseverance!

Kate Reading has a twang to her voice that I need to get used to. Michael Kramer sounds more neutral. The speech patterns and pacing are geared for a different generation and I have to reconcile it with how I absorb literature. None of it is bad, just different.

Onward to book 5. I'm driven forward by curiosity and am fully invested. I know I am going to miss the pace, warmth, and animation of Rosamund Pike's narration but I do not dislike these narrators so far. My goal is to read all 15 before year's end. Wish me luck!

Book 4 - ok I think the 'hits you because likes you' thing isn't my jam but Faile was certainly redeemed as I read further. 🌸 I am really enjoying reading this series! #firstTimeReader #WoTSkies #WotBookSpoilers

As for the political leanings, it certainly made a statement. I always think we could always be more obvious, more intentional, more subversive in popular media. Hollywood can be a useful platform. I admire when it is used well.

I appreciated that they showed more masculine vulnerability. I thought it could have shown better gender representation beyond the binary. I didn't catch a whiff of racial aggression coding which was my main criticism for Suicide Squad. I was impressed and excited for more of Gunn's DC universe!

John Wic---- I mean #Superman, was a delight! A cute nod to millennials. Watching it in 3D IMAX at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle was an enjoyable sensory immersion. I highly recommend it!

Yes! I liked her in the show! We need it to continue. It's such a great story and the show set up some profound relationships. I hope we can #SaveWot !!!

Book 4 - I'm not a fan of how Faile treats Perrin in the books. It's not cute, it's cruel and abusive at this point. She's very nearly irredeemable as a character. I hope I'm not looking forward to Perrin segments just to read about her hitting him. #WotSkies #WotBookSpoilers #FirstTimeReader
