The consequential problem though is cost. Good headphones with replaceable parts is indeed expensive...

This is such a pain. I learned my lesson with the last pair I owned they had similar coating issue. I researched my current headset and chose pads with better material. I also checked if the company has replacement parts if I do need a repair in future. Maybe check out Beyerdynamic pro headsets.

I've definitely been obsessed with small details before and I tend to go out of my way to fix it even if most people don't notice. How do you plan around polishing/fixing things like this? Or is it too difficult and ends up being a bit ad-hoc?

I bought this course a while ago, it's kinda sitting on my back burner but I go back to it from time to time: gamedev.tv/courses/math... I think the biggest thing I wish I had was maths taught in an applicable context. Game dev and graphics programming is perfect for it I think.

I felt the same a couple of years ago. So much so I went back to my Khan Academy account and tried to pick up where my GCSEs left me. It did help! But it did feel kinda difficult because I kept having to go backwards until I could deal with the level of maths to build up to shaders maths

When I think of semiotics, like illustrators, character designers, writers can all agree, the difference between villains and heroes really can be observed and kinda not subtle IRL. It also makes me think of the differences between bees and wasps.
