I just have to accept WoW isnt being written for me anymore its being written for the most milquetoast legends & lattes crowd possible with the end goal being stripping the setting of anything concrete and reducing it to a sandbox slurry where "you can do anything :3"

WHY IS THIS RNG FOR ALL CLASSES?!
Some big names spotted at the Speaker's Rest void incursion!
Love your work
I'm still getting whiplash from this shit in the same expac lol
It's really interchangeable(?). A while back, maybe bfa, people expressed interest in seeing the 'cosmic' side of the Void; the cold, dark and empty space that it inhabits and it being representative of that.
"You can't even break one elf."
Finished my first class of my new course :3
Weird to have structured online classes from 6-9pm, but despite anxiety and the odd time, I'm so damn excited and keen for future lessons.
And I agree. To me, the softness isn't the lack of these types, it's the lack of doing in right. I still believe Anduin can show this, but the way the speed ran Arator's is appalling & frankly demoralising. Vol'jin was robbed, and I'm still bitter about it. Jan & Jarra should be something special.
these things, because the MSQ really looked quite the opposite.
I truly would love Jan to have an arc that feels similar to the characters mentioned, but I do want it to be his and something unique and beautiful. I hope I'm not just setting myself up for disappointment, he's so damn deserving. >
I appreciate the disclaimer, but your voice, especially on Zul'jan is one I care about & put a lot of stock in, so be as open as you feel able to be, it's appreciated by me.
You're right, especially with his line that he was talker + strategist & Jarra was more of the warrior. We need to be SHOWN >

I do believe WoW has steered a little soft, as mentioned it's great to men be vulnerable and open, but it needs to be balanced and earned. Fiction should inspire and be a little fan servicey. Positive masculinity is so necessary in times like these, and it's important to foster its growth.
To conclude, Zul'jan should represent that indomitable human (mortal) spirit that is just so iconic (eg, Vol'jin, Thel'Vadam & Atreus LoL). Overcoming ones inner turmoil to become a man of grit, duty & family. A theme that has been missed for a while, and I can think of none better than Zul'jan >
Above all, he loves his people, especially his uncle & sister. Like Varian had, I hope beyond hope this potential 'darker path' will be an arc that will give Zul'jan growth to rise above being a young man scarred from the past, overcoming his flaws to serve his people & broaden himself>>
Through ZA MSQ, he's shown as brash yet patriotic. He undermines his sister not for malice, but because he is a hurt young man who knows only that their "gods" abandoned them, their existence is sin to some & everything they have left has been fought for. He reveres martyrs & deserves to be more>>
Zul'jan represents a lot of the players in some ways with his idealization of the past heroes, especially grampa Zul'jin (did nothing wrong btw). He's a young man similar to Garrosh, he heard stories of his peoples glory, resilience & been present at their lowest since he was a child. >>
of an iconic character. Granted, his story isn't over (yet?), but I fear the damage has been done in many eyes.
So, while the old cast are chronically depressed, sidelined & looked over, we have a new young man that represents something nostalgic, necessary & has amazing potential, Zul'jan >>
I think Turalyon, with all his history could have been great if they ever cared to develop him, with his trauma from wc2 to Legion, the mortal in 1000 years war. BfA made him show disgust for Foal & Warfront racism boss. The reframing of his history in Midnight frankly sucks & it's such a waste >>
TWW cine with Anduin & Thrall is brilliant still, but in the spirit of Wyrnns, we haven't really had a balanced, strong male lead since Varian. Saurfang had a fine arc. Velen top tier holyman, Gazlowe in UM was👌. Lor'themar was iconic in the MN cine, then sidelined by worse Anduin nepo 40y/o child>>
Little thought dump around the state of "masculinity in WoW", why I'm attached to Zul'jan and think he represents something good in that corner.
Blizzard haven't been great at nuance recently. It's been great to see the WC men show feelings, talk about problems and not just "war fix >:(".

the way some people can't draw "ugly" warcraft races without giving them conventionally attractive features don't sit right with me.
give that troll woman her nose back NOW!!!
The greys are really coming through though. Gonna be fully grey before 40 at this point 😭
Today's vibes

All I care about is that my actually kitties would like me 😁
The lovely server at the bakery called my hair luscious. Gonna ride this high for the next 6 months.
This is one thing that absolutely encapsulated me during Wrath. The sheer, borderline unfathomable scale of some of the structures and stonework in Zul'Drak made me fall in love with this zone. The terraced slopes and aqueducts, the shrines and road networks, I can't wait to see in again.
Duality of man
(Honestly quite funny the timer starts from acquisition lol)
Finito
Little xmog wishlist post, either more gloves or 3d braces like as pictured would be v cool
