NYC Mayoral Candidate Brad Lander Latest Victim of ICE Violence The New York City comptroller was assisting a man in immigration court when masked agents arrested him.

"Speakers said that if immigration agents were comfortable abusing an elected official in public, listeners should imagine what they’re doing to regular civilians in private." @whitneycwimbish.bsky.social reports on Brad Lander's arrest: prospect.org/justice/2025...

As I’ve been saying, California is just the test case.

Trump is now saying the quiet part out loud: blue cities and states are being specifically targeted to stoke fear, violence, and chaos — all to punish the people that didn’t vote for him.

We have been fighting for a safer Queensboro Bridge for far too long. But the day will finally arrive this weekend: separated, protected bike and pedestrian paths on this vital crossing.

I am so grateful to all the advocates and elected officials who refused to give up.

Clean Deliveries Act could lessen warehouse boom-fueled pollution in New York Legislation could limit the pollution from diesel trucks traveling back and forth from warehouses to deliver packages by passing the Clean Deliveries Act.

Half of New York’s warehouses are located in what the state calls “disadvantaged communities,” according to an updated environmental report, and diesel truck rides to and from those facilities have almost quintupled over the past decade

New Report Finds Disadvantaged Communities Bear the Brunt of Massive Warehouse Expansion Through New York State Press release from EDF and ElectrifyNY on new warehouse boom report with updated data.

Nearly FIVE TIMES more warehouse-generated diesel truck trips happened over the last decade, compared to ten years before.

Communities across New York are living with the consequences of this unchecked growth and deserve relief now.

Gov. Hochul, top NY lawmakers demand 'fair share' from feds to pay for MTA repairs The lawmakers sent a letter to President Trump and other top Republicans, arguing the MTA deserves more money from the federal government to fix the city's troubled mass transit systems.

In the letter, obtained by Gothamist, Gov. Hochul and state leaders say the MTA deserves additional money because it carries 43% of the nation’s mass transit riders while getting a 17% share of funding through the federal transit formula — which they called a “fundamental misalignment.”

No single media outlet has done more to spur the crime panic in NYC than The Post but when it comes to holding criminally corrupt politicians barely accountable, Michael Goodwin and the editorial board suddenly find they love crimes. What a bunch of frauds.

New York’s economic future hinges on #congestionpricing. Trump’s assault on our infrastructure won’t just halt billions in transit improvements—it will slash thousands of union jobs while crippling New York's ability to finance a future that improves lives for years to come ❗️

Trump has a long history of stiffing the bill and not paying contractors- by trying to kill congestion pricing, he’s doing the thing he knows best.

Governor Hochul’s Overnight Policing Initiative on NYC Transit Ensuring safety for all transit riders is critical, but increasing police presence is not the solution our system or communities deserve.

🚇 True safety on NYC transit won’t come from more police—it’ll come from supporting riders.

@GovKathyHochul, prioritize a sustainable approach to this issue by being proactive and investing in resources NYers need, to prevent harm.

We all deserve to be safe in transit. But throwing more cops at the problem instead of addressing the root cause reveals Governor Hochul isn't taking transit safety seriously at all.

Task forces won’t pay for child care or keep families in NY. We need bold, immediate action.

Want to stick it to NYC’s congestion pricing? Fully fund NJ Transit. Congestion pricing is good for everyone — and opposing it is a waste of time. Transportation advocates must have one goal: fully funding NJ Transit

An evergreen op-ed from yours truly and Alex Ambrose at @njpolicy.bsky.social

"Opposition to congestion pricing may be a good way to score political points, but it does nothing for everyday New Jerseyans who rely on a public transit agency desperate for funding."
