I wouldn’t be surprised if the ending of part 2 is about Denji saving Asa and Yoshida based on what they taught him. And they do the same with him. It makes sense and it also mirrors Yuko and Asa’s relationship. It also fits with the fact that chainsaw man is a hopeful manga.

And imagine, this entire time Yoshida was genuinely trying to prevent Denji from turning into Hybrid and never having a peaceful life. Now the tables have turned. Denji has to save his friend Yoshida from the weight of being a hybrid and never having a peaceful life.

I think Yoshida becoming a hybrid is very in character for him too. He’s afraid of death, he’s chained by PS and the plans of higher ups, he seems like he’s Judas in this story and he does want to save the world. It also puts entire arcs he’s involved in into more context.

I think he’s involved with nuclear weapons in some way and that’s why he appeared right after its revival. Its why he’s got some similarities to Reze in the new chapter too

These paintings- The current situation of both these characters underneath the context of the painting and death’s / war’s plan.

Both of these characters are struggling with the lasting impact of past war in their lives. And both of them are refusing to reach out because they are caged by the world. Death is attempting to keep this cage afloat and as it is, War is attempting to break it- and neither options are good.

And last but not least: bird feather in a cage.

This one is complicated. I see it as the “big picture” of what part 2 is about. The feather represents Bucky’s death and his image is the war and internal conflict that follows. People fight to kill, and people die to fight.

he will be able to choose both the life of csm and Denji and still have a normal life. Two pictures of stars, showing the intensity of this dream.

Moon is lingering over Yoshida, watching over him. The ground is also above the world checkers- showing that hes grounded with them.

Stars and sky ✨🌠 - Hopes and dreams

Yoshida: A picture of earth and the moon. He is down to earth. However, on top of the chess board with Denji’s trees, a small glimmer of stars arise. He hopes to protect Denji from the other chess board.

Another note is Yoshida has plants intertwining on his side, and it’s huge and on top. Perhaps the weight of becoming intertwined with the devil life has weighed on him.

Yoshida’s side: A sharper, younger rose. Plants seem to represent devilhood in chainsaw man based on the inside covers. He has less experience with the devil life, but is sharper about it.

Denji’s side: Large, round rose. He’s been a devil for awhile, but

Yoshida’s side: two, both with pieces. The one without trees is perhaps the world itself and its plans, which Yoshida sees half of. “The second checker board, with the trees and stars above, is his plans with Denji.

Denji’s side: empty checker board. No understanding.

Trees 🌲 - denji

Yoshida’s side: Trees on a checkerboard, separate from the other checkerboard, and they match Denji’s trees. Will explain later.

Denji’s side: A tree right above his head. Denji is the tree- an immature cartoon, but still aware of his role as a hybrid.

Nothing about the plot would make sense if he was nuclear weapons hybrid before this. But the plot makes sense after.

Let me clarify, he’s a hybrid after* nuclear weapons was recreated in 209. And I think that might be part of the tragedy- his friendship with octopus devil as a human vs his doom as NCW hybrid and he… can’t choose both options haha.

And like. This isn’t me cherry picking shit like I did with katanail. I reread the whole manga and yeah almost all of Yoshida’s actions make sense if you see him as a human who’s destiny as the NCW hybrid is a ticking time bomb and he’s becoming something monstrous and his humanity is being stripped
