I don't know how I knew this would be the first response, but I did, and that troubles me.
The number of minis I have anointed in my blood...
It really is :D
Hey no worries! Best of luck with it, it looks amazing.
A big horse. Friesland or Shire horse. Or a mean horse, like a Shetland pony.
I'm already onto it :D I bought a five pack of Audible credits as soon as I'd finished Rhesus Chart, that pretty much decided for me that I was listening to the whole series.
Just listened to The Rhesus Chart by @cstross.bsky.social more than a decade late, and /what/ an ending. Intensely cool.
The world has changed so much since I wrote this, but at the end of the day it's still an essay I had a breakdown writing, an essay that took days because I couldn't stop crying long enough to write

Just visited the Newark Bookshop in the English town of the same name. It has a small but /immaculately/ chosen SF and graphic novel selection. #books #bookshop.
"It isn't possible to not age; I never thought I would remain the same. That's what would be weird, in fact: to endure raw time and the obvious, profound insincerities of existence and be recognizable at the end. It's psycho shit; I don't honor it."
Man, always read the notes on Penny Arcade comics. Jerry Holkins cooks www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2025/0...
I assume this is a tabletop, but if you've taken up making wargames terrain, excellent sandbar, that'll look a beaut with a bunch of space elves smashing people across it.

Genuinely quite excited to see a version of Standard that isn't all Izzet and Mono Red. Also @tjohnlinward.bsky.social has done a great job on the writeup here.
That six inch square does so much work.
One of my favourite things on YouTube is seeing creators getting older, calmer, and more humanist:

Rubbish Star Wars board games - we love 'em. Well, all right, 'love' isn't the right word, but roasting them is a rare delight.

That's some damn good display organisation. She's been taking notes.
Decided to read some TS Elliot, found The Hollow Men on a poetry blog, saw it had comments turned on, discovered this rollercoaster of a comment. Holy shit.
Unexpected side effect of 40k fandom (and reading Dan Abnett in particular) - being (re)introduced to some fabulous poetry. Ulysses by Lord Tennyson is a fucking jam.

The family cat, Nick, died yesterday. It's not clear how - we just found him dead in the back garden, not a mark on him. He was a wonderful beast. Born in a hedge, we never expected to domesticate him, but he grew into the most sociable, human centred cat I've ever known. We're all very sad.
Interviewer: can you explain this gap in your CV?
Me, a games journalist: I've got something to fill it, but it's under embargo.
