My bad! I’m always trying to bend the conversation towards Fish Police, lol
Disappointing lack of Fish Police here
Maybe see if @thepastels.bsky.social can shed any light?
Jeezo! FIVE? Fond memories of recording my vocals in a cupboard under a duvet
I was introduced to this via Portastatic’s cover version, which features a ripping solo from Ira Kaplan iirc

With all the Spotify discourse, it made me think of our EP which isn’t on streaming; I have no idea if there are any physical copies of this left but have a look and a listen, why not? Not too late for this to become a contender for yr EOTY list 🤪

Good stuff! It’s gotten crazy expensive (oh, I wonder why) - went to preorder the Hyper Enough mug and it was $100 for shipping, so had to pass; nothing funny about that 🫠
Gig poster for Jutland Songs, Fountain Road, The Mary Column and Comber, who are all playing on Thursday 4 December at the Old Hairdressers in Glasgow. Doors are at 7pm and tickets are £8 plus booking fee in advance from wegottickets.com or £10 on the door on the night. The poster is decorated with Vikings in various poses from a Letraset sheet from the 1960s.
This will be the only gig I play this year, so I’ve made sure it’s going to be a doozy & booked a bill that I can’t quite believe, it’s so good. Mark yr calendar! Tell yr pals!
Striding bravely towards utterly bland irrelevance 👏

It’s been a minute since I’ve listened to it tbf!
This song always gave me the creeps
a pink and blue menu for Roxy's Diner
a red and cream menu for Lenny's Diner and Pissery
a red-toned menu for Six Kitties Cafeteria
a green and purple menu for Lucky's Cat Food Cafeteria
hi! maybe you remember me from the menu i made for my cat, which hit surprisingly big a little while ago. i made some menus for other people's pets in exchange for donations to pro-trans organisations. now i'm doing it again, but for food banks.
please share! more info downthread!
Great title!
I fucking love Das Damen. Only band I ever got into via a live album
He just made a comment about our support that was poor, even by his standards
Four, if you count Chopper Dave
Thanks, pal! I simply love to dissect the past and I should STOP
Also, going back to the original question but attempting not to be too self indulgent, I think Eska leant too hard into instrumentals latterly, and for my songs at least, I should’ve tried harder to write vocals
Lol, no! I just thing you’re famous by my metrics
Sez you…
Coming from the right place but a clunker; imo, of course!
A song that should have been quietly abandoned a long time ago
Genuinely think it lends a different colour to this record but it might just be all in my head
Sorry to stick an oar in, but I just discovered some legend put up our last record up online recently. Haven’t heard it in an age. Guitar nerd note: I used 13 gauge flatwounds on my LP Special for this recording session despite never using them before or since

No way! I was just spitballing…
Wonder if Dave Sim ever saw this cartoon 🤔
