Hearing politicos talk about Dems wanting a candidate that can communicate like Zohran without the idealogy is so mind numbing. Its not just how he communicates its about what he is communicating! Corporate dems are out there looking for an Manchurian candidate

Speaker Julie Menin's preliminary budget proposal would result in slashing billions of dollars from agency budgets, which would force the City to cut services. Double counting previously identified savings, overestimating revenues, and exaggerating debt service savings does nothing to close a deficit.
This $6 billion proposal asks Albany for just one action - class size mandate relief. It refuses to address the deeper structural imbalance between the City and the State, or to increase taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers and most profitable corporations. It effectively ensures this structural deficit will continue indefinitely.
Any proposal that claims we can close this gap without significant new revenue is unrealistic.

Amazing. If a professional wrestling crowd is chanting "fuck ICE," it suggests to me that large swaths of the culture are not just upset over ICE tactics, they're coalescing against mass deportations as a broader ideological project.

Federal Agents Left Behind “Death Cards” After Capturing Immigrants ICE agents dropped customized ace of spades playing cards, recalling a practice by U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War.

This is sick.

And it’s a reminder why half-measures are not acceptable. Abolish ICE.

So ready for Gov. Hochul to turn the page on her Grover Norquist phase

I think he has the nominal support of the governor in general. Agree that she will be an obstacle on taxing the wealthiest New Yorkers.

With Carl Heastie behind him, Zohran Mamdani has the nominal support of the governor and the two state legislative leaders.

We'll most likely soon find out whether those endorsements mean anything in the brutal Albany cold of budget season.

A screeenshot of a twitter post from Politico reporter Jeff Coltin. There's a photo of Zohran Mamdani and NY Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie standing at a podium outside with news station microphones on the podium and a Zohran for New York City sign on the podium too. The tweet says:

Would you help Mamdani raise taxes on millionaires, pass free child care and free buses, Heastie is asked?
“All of the above,” Heastie said.
“Millionaire taxes poll extremely well,” he adds. “With the Big Disgusting Bill, the rich are getting richer with that bill.”

@speakercarlheastie.bsky.social knows what's up.

The Federal Budget Scam serves the rich, and the rich alone.

New Yorkers are more than ready to #TaxTheRich.

It's time for them to pay their fair share.

Earlier this morning, Axios reported that Gov. Hochul plans to axe New Yorkers’ healthcare as a result of July’s Federal Budget Scam. Below is a response from Erica Vladimer, Communications Coordinator for the Invest In Our New York Campaign:

“New York’s Congressional Republican delegation happily voted to make New Yorkers sicker by cutting billions from our healthcare, forcing state leaders to step in and deal with the aftermath. Unfortunately, Governor Hochul’s claim to stand up for New York’s families falls short as she chooses to axe their healthcare. Instead, Governor Hochul can raise the necessary public dollars to protect healthcare access by raising taxes on New York’s millionaires and billionaires. Anything less is just going along with Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans.”

Welp, @governor.ny.gov is on board with Trump & Congressional Republicans' efforts to make NY sicker. @axios.com reported this morning that Hochul is scrapping expanded healthcare b/c of the Federal Budget Scam. www.axios.com/2025/09/10/n...

Slashing Medicaid to Pay for Trump’s Tax Cuts Could Lead to Vast State Shortfalls Republicans have proposed lowering the federal share of costs for Medicaid expansions, which could reshape the program by gutting one of the Affordable Care Act’s major provisions.

Under the GOP's budget resolution, millions of Americans would lose their health insurance, and ten states would automatically cancel their adoption of the Medicaid expansion due to trigger laws. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/25/u...
