PLEASE! I'm not an author, but a bookseller who a.) wants to read more in her fave series, but can't keep them alive single-handedly, b.) is tired of waxing rhapsodic about a series, only to have customers walk away because it's not complete yet, & c.) explaining why a series will never be finished.
I've heard of way too many horror stories surrounding mismanaged funds. A few green flags for charity projects is if they stick to a digital zine, they don't use corporate 3rd parties or mods, they don't handle money directly, and asks for proof of a donation to their chosen charities instead.
