Vote an unknown liberal instead of our current, hard-working MP? Talk about a BS take!

if NDP voters can vote Lib candidates in other ridings where Libs lead the vote split (& have repeatedly been asked to do), then certainly the Libs can do the same and vote Desjarlais back in for Edm Griesbach

Blake's an Indigenous candidate in a riding that includes inner city "scary" neighboorhoods (like mine) with low income families of diverse cultural backgrounds.

He is present. He steps up. And I don't have to like his current party's leader to appreciate the good he brings to our riding.

This is my riding. I've lived in it & its previous boundaries, for 20+ years. The NDP encumbent, Desjarlais, is the best representation we've had to date. This one riding won't make or break Carney's win, but voting an unknown Lib & keeping out a hard-working, excellent rep helps Diotte get back in!

Could not have reached this milestone without the care and support of @janmcarthur.bsky.social over the years.

Many thanks to examiners @amhwork.bsky.social and @slewth.bsky.social for great conversation, challenging my thinking, & encouraging consideration of new avenues for future exploration.

Oh hey, there's a face I haven't seen in a long time!

Hope you've got a good scarf on and until the beard is back in place.

While I like to think I am just as capable at my chosen profession as I was previously, I am very slow compared to "old me." Lately, this translates to working a lot of unpaid OT to keep up. I really don't know how to fix this without losing my career & risking sliding from doing OK into poverty.

As someone who has been here long before the recent X influx, I find it all quite fascinating. Granted, I don't post often (still more active in Threads), but my follower count has barely moved while everyone else is talking about massive influxes.

Good luck to my group then, as I'm typically the note taking player they all rely on!

Sure par-tay. Let the one with the worst memory try to take up the DM role. No way that could possibly go wrong...

Had a blast this afternoon play testing a 1shot campaign @rollingtales.bsky.social as part of the #artforheart @stollerykids.bsky.social fundraiser. Still a day left to bid on some incredible art and other nerdy prizes for those who couldn't make it in today.

We spent 5 years posted to Wpg before we moved to Edm, and I'm still amazed at how much warmer the winters are here, considering how much further north we're located. I do miss the snow I grew up with in the Maritimes, but not having to shovel it!

Last year in May Edm had a heatwave with temps in the 30s for days. There's never anything consistent about the weather here.

Despite the frigid cold snap this Jan, we had a pretty mild winter this year [NB: based on my very faulty memories of past AB winters]

You can get a 10 year fixed rate mortgage in Canada. Not sure about those offered through brokers, but banks offer them. Have never heard of one longer than that though.

Source: My previous term with a national bank was for 10 years.

We currently have 2 small rescues with socialization issues. It's challenging. Spent small fortune on private training sessions, since they aren't fit for group training. Avoid dog parks. I miss having well socialized big dogs that I could take (& trust) anywhere.

I worry about them all the time.

The Michael Jordan Foundation is matching donations for this #DonorsChoose fundraiser today. Help bring the March series (John Lewis' memoir in graphic form) to high school history students in an SC school. Every penny matched, doubling your impact.

Inspiring Historical Empathy And Understanding With Graphic Memoirs, a project from Ms. Lewell Help me give my students copies of John Lewis' MARCH to deepen understanding of the fight for Civil Rights. In my IB US History and History of the Americas classes, we cover the important topic...

Using comics to teach history? Accessible and meaningful resources can make a huge difference to students. Help get these books into student hands by supporting my friend's #donorschoose project.

Yes, they close quite early but have great takeout (& frozen meals too!) of you don't have time to eat in the small restaurant space.

We were there early 2000s and pink appeared nearly as often as green. Always dancing. White was a rare sight.

Now I have to drive a bit out of town if I want to see them. City expansion, and downtown & northern lights don't mix :(

We used to see pink all the time when we first moved here. Used to stand in our parking lot at Griesbach and watch them. Edm neighbourhoods didn't spread that far north back then.

Am I reading this right? EPS is refusing to release the audit plan to our elected council members?

I can understand not releasing it to the general public at this stage. I don't agree, but can at least live with that assuming the people we elected to represent us and who set budgets have access.

Our climate station outside tells me its 19C in the backyard while I sit here freezing away in my home office.

Why does no one warn you about getting chills and cold flashes as part of peri-menopause? I feel like I've been cold for years and will never be warm again.

Wasn't that always their plan? And the "independent minded, we don't need no stinking gov't" people will be the last to realize just how much they relied on gov't programs and subsidies when their realize their taken for granted entitlements are all gone.

I think the building was under renos last time I drove past. Signs were down by their FB posts assure me they are open.

I do need to work on reviewing places that I love. I'm told they do help at times.

I donated 3 tubs full of yarn to a local seniors centre last year and am left with a 4x4 Ikea Kallax filled with yarn, patterns, supplies and 5-6 projects on the go. I've started bundling other yarns together for projects I may get to in another 20 odd years. Living the dream!

I think of ai bring more yarn into the house before finising a few projects my partner will revolt. I have a bit of a stash problem at the moment. But grand plans for all of it...

I don't think they sell supplies at all anymore. I think it's mostly classes and skill development. Yaniversity, I think it's been dubbed, and it's a worthy endeavour on its own I expect.

I need to carve off time to get back into knitting more regularly.
