I have a few... one is even in the basement! (And I tested it with the plumber. It does work.) I think my basement is just drafty. Thank goodness for that! So, not enough usage to create a ton of CO, and not enough has accumulated at one time to set it off, but I'm still replacing the whole thing.

The tank is just over 10 years old anyway, though, so... better to just get a new one that's safer with the power venting feature and call it a day. I'll let you know if it craps out in the meantime, though!!

Damned of it is, the tank is technically still working! But the vent (through chimney) apparently is not, so it's dispersing the CO into my basement. 😬😬😬

I guess the older the house gets, the more likely the chimney will deteriorate, so even if they clear it out, it's likely to get clogged again
