I'm so glad!

Who doesn't?! Height of fashion
Thank you!
This is part of the April batch of figures that have been sent out to mail-tier Patreon backers, and which I'll be sharing with the digital backers tomorrow. I'm doing a set each month for all of 2026; I think this puts me up to 39 or 40 figures (I'm bad at counting).

Pencils, inks, and painted finals featuring a red-hued fantasy dwarf with a red cap festooned with little mithril and silver badges. He's got an axe!
Here's a process peek at one of the LOTR guys from the hundred-figure set: Gimli! Because he's a favorite.
Sesame Inclination to use violent rhetoric when discussing avenues of redress for systemic ills
I think of that line EVERY SINGLE TIME
Competitive authoritarianism is, fwiw, the typical American style of authoritarianism as seen particularly in the history of the U.S. South.

Popped over to Nashville for the afternoon to drop in to the ANIMATION Y'ALL expo; see some pals, catch some panels. If you see me around, say howdy!
I need young folks to know: this is really cool. Let them have this. You can keep your mouth shut for two weeks. It's ok.
Two weeks won't kill you, and it could show the general public that indie animation has a place, and that these things can exist somewhere other than YouTube.
I wrote this 10 years ago and am glad it is still pissing off the right people.
The best outcome is since then Jay Rubin and I have become good friends.

Weirdly, the ipad is what I use to "examine" comics more than read them; I zoom each panel to pretty much full screen and slowly pore through (currently doing this on a revisit of "The Smell of Starving Boys).
(My own panels will not hold up to this scrutiny so if anyone so. zooms ME, I'm sunk)
Honestly, I figured if you hadn't cracked it (no offense! I love looking at your stuff on there, but it's never "easy"), it was likely uncrackable, at least presently. I'm just trying to reckon on what's the best of subpar options.
The latter doesn't necessarily allow for the reader to zoom in, and neither version seems to be particular intuitive for reading. My ideal would be to only post it on webtoons and put process/commentary on Patreon, BUT I don't wanna oblige anyone to have to use a platform, especially paying folks.
Friends who read serialized comics on Patreon, or who serialize comics on Patreon:
Which do you reckon better: uploading all of the pages/panels as images that one swipes through, or embedding the images in the text so that the reader can scroll down?
REALLY enjoying this talk about the state and nature of contemporary comics criticism between @davidharper.bsky.social and @explodingarrow.bsky.social, two of my favorite comics critics:

(I actually didn't know this was a youtube thing, too; I subscribe to the audio)
listening to @davidharper.bsky.social in conversation with @explodingarrow.bsky.social about The Comics Staple kickstarter and comics criticism this morning. I was ambushed by some compliments in here. it's a good listen if you enjoy talking deeply about comics:

Thanks!
A unicorn drawn in brown ink with red highlights in some places is standing on all four legs, eating to stems, each of which has a flower at the end.
Donner, a claymation reindeer from the movie “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer”, is standing on snow with a yellow-grey sky in the background.
A unicorn – with a striking resemblance to the Claymation reindeer – from the Martyrdom of Ptolemy of Antinoe (c.800-920).
This always makes me so happy.
Looking forward to this!
Thomas Paine, too, though i don't know if he counts
Thank you so much, Will!
Don't sleep on this one.
Hmmmm!!!
I haven't seen or tried copic pens, myself
I've never had luck with fountain pens (partially getting a consistent ink flow with my very heavy pressing, partially because I am a terrible steward)
Also, thanks for subscribing, Lauren!
With the .05/F my mark-making angle doesn't matter nearly as much as it does with the .07, which I have to hold closer to up-and-down. Something that can be a bit slanted it great.
I'd use a brush or brush pen, but I'm far too naturally heavy handed and too impatient to temper myself. Fast lines!
Hey, friends! So I'm MOSTLY using a .07 pen (Faber Castell PITT M) on these pages, for lettering and most of the art, but I get a lot more range and flexibility with a .05 (F). Trouble is, .05 looks a bit slight for most of (my line-heavy) art once I reduce it for print.
Anyone recommend a good .06?
