Dragged @therealmckee.bsky.social out into the audience for an unplugged encore last night. I'll never forget it. A truly great guitar player, and a true friend.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when we put vile, lying, BLATANTLY corrupt pieces of shit like Donald Trump in power. Oh well, we’re all stuck reaping the whirlwind now. Thanks for coming to my ANDYTalk 🤷♂️ 🤦♂️
Even worse, the recently passed Republican budget which targets Medicaid could leave my friend looking at $47,000 in monthly medication expenses for his son.
About a month ago, my friend got a letter from the hospital in PA saying that the federal grant that provided funding for research into cures and remedies for Friedrichs Ataxia had just been cut thanks to DOGE.
For some years now, my friend has travelled with his son to Philadelphia every few months to meet with doctors about new research and medication opportunities.
I have a very good friend that I have known for almost 30 years. About 16 years ago he had a son born with a condition known as Friedrichs Ataxia, a genetic, neurodegenertive movement disorder.
I guess the reason I’ve always loved instrumental music is due to the fact that in a certain way, it invites you to become an artist as you listen. There are no words to tell you what the music is about, you must create a picture or a story in your mind as you interpret the music in your own way.
Glad we could help you get through the day, Chuck!
Tonight I heard a solo guitar piece from a friend of mine named Antoine Dufour called “These Moments”. I always admired that tune and maybe even wished that I could’ve written it, it’s so incredibly well done. He and I think alike in many ways thematically and harmonically. I was moved to tears.
I think you may be right! I should add it’s not that I don’t like the old tunes, it’s just hearing the recordings that bugs me. Like nails on chalkboard!
I hate hearing my previous recordings. I’m enjoying the new material I’m coming up with lately, though, and I really want to nail the performances and recordings this time. I guess it’s a common story. I have an autographed copy of Leo Kottke’s Circles Round the Sun signed “burn this record- Leo”
Appropriate mix of headlines. Climate change accelerates, while the business world, under pressure from US conservatives, abandons any attempt to stop it
Thanks again, man. Say I’ll be up in NYC again on March 20th at The Iridium if you’ll be around and want to catch another gig! ✌️
Right on man! Did you say this was in NYC?
Pete Buttigieg, dude just seems solid as hell. Oh wait, is that the wrong DC?
Thanks man, that’s very kind of you to say! 😊
Yeah man! I left Twitter about a year ago too, I think! I hopped on Threads but it might going down the tubes as well, so to speak. Bluesky sounds like the way forward 😃
Looking forward to kicking off my March tour in the NorthEast at the beautiful SOPAC in South Orange New Jersey! Grab tickets at my website while they’re hot 🔥
Right on man, it’s good to be here!
Yeah Vince’s work on Transformers is great too for sure, but Rocky IV holds a special place for me. It was the first album I ever bought!
Yo! It’s the real me, for real.
