Peak dad day: coached my 8th grade hoops team to a 5th place finish in state and then horrified my kids in the car by playing a max volume “Wuthering Heights.”

I’d start a a drink at the hotel, do the beef tartare and a hangar steak at Porzana, then walk to Smack Shack to have a nightcap and spin the wheel.

Absolutely tore through “The Believers.” Best book I’ve read in forever. Compulsively readable novel about the AIDS crisis in mid-80s Chicago and the present day aftermath. Gonna be thinking about this one for a long time. 10/10 stars.
