2/2 - So my question: Is this the most ho-hum Final 5 you can remember? It seems like they've all stumbled and lucked out to get here despite terrible decisions over and over. Unanimous votes at 7 and 6 just show a group with no fight. After lots of bland gameplay in 48, this somehow seems worse.

1/2 - I've watched every season of Survivor since 2000 as it's aired, and I certainly haven't loved all the winners. There are times I haven't really liked any of the Final 2 or 3. But this may be the first season where going into the finale, I don't think any of them played a great game.
Heartbroken because I'm certain he's neither the first, nor will he be the last.
Heartbroken because cops of all flavors have always been dangerous to Autistic people, and especially Autistic BIPOC.
Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”
“I know that there are some people in this room who don’t believe that my marriage should have been legal … and that’s ok. Because we’re all Americans who want lower taxes.”
I kind of can’t believe this Bari Weiss quote is even real, and yet www.nytimes.com/2025/10/06/b...
In case it wasn’t clear, the anti-DEI crusade has never been about merit. Zero news experience. Never been a reporter. Elevated to Editor in Chief of CBS News, one of the most storied news institutions in the nation. www.mediaite.com/media/news/p...
I'd even settle for the Malone period itself, Myq!
Stephen Colbert is a profoundly good and deeply talented man with a great staff and an excellent show. They all deserve better.
😢
A secret, never-mentioned fact is that the people who voted for Zohran are also taxpayers.

Most well-known L.A. comics (which would be Kumail's circle) are far from rich. They're middle-class folks. Yes, the ones who get more TV and movie roles (like Kumail) might be wealthy, but most definitely aren't.
Kumail clearly does more than "nothing but attack Democrats".
You can vote for them and generally support them and fundraise for them, and also criticize them and believe right now is no time for, "things are always this way and everything will be okay."
Double bonus: I could take you to Neil Young's childhood home!
So are you finally going to come up to the @winnipegfolkfest.bsky.social? 😂
Hurray for the Riff Raff is playing along with Jason Isbell, Ani DiFranco, Bruce Cockburn, Waxahatchee, Gillian Welch, Mavis Staples, and a few of my friends' bands, too.

There is one place, however, where Musk, with the help of his minions, achieved his goals. He did indeed shred U.S.A.I.D. Though a rump operation is now operating inside the State Department, the administration says that it has terminated more than 80 percent of U.S.A.I.D. grants. Brooke Nichols, an associate professor of global health at Boston University, has estimated that these cuts have already resulted in about 300,000 deaths, most of them of children, and will most likely lead to significantly more by the end of the year. That is what Musk’s foray into politics accomplished.
Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty.

An important reminder that measles vaccines save millions of lives every year across the world.
The measles vaccine is arguably the most life-saving vaccine in use.

Fentanyl deaths are up by 50 percent in San Francisco after Mayor Lurie replaced harm reduction programs with police and prisons. It's almost like you put lives in danger when you treat a public health problem like it's a crime

Good on the Episcopal Church for taking a stand and committing to racial justice and reconciliation.
It's amazing *how many* are completely blind to the outright and obvious racism of the Trump administration. (But at this point, sadly not surprising.)
Worse than 9/11? WTF is wrong with these people? They can't possibly actually believe any of this, can they? It's all political bluster?
😲
It is fucking disgusting people voted JD Vance's literal best friend anywhere in Canada.
Watching Kenney praise him glowingly was extra vomit inducing.
*skeet 😉
(I only feel comfortable bringing this up on a skeet like this because Ariel said Samberg will be fine!)
i have argued before that MAGA is recapitulating antebellum pro-slavery ideas about citizenship and bodily autonomy. one thing i am also thinking about, when it comes to the rendition of people to a foreign gulag, is the way it is reminiscent of the kidnapping of free blacks for sale into slavery
Poilievre would be another term for Harper, who is pulling the strings here in Canada and with right wing extremists around the world.
Except it would be worse… imagine Harper in power today, with Trump in charge next door.
If that doesn’t frighten you, it should.
You absolutely love to see it
Much deserved!
Lots of Nardwuar fans outside of Canada! Timothee Chalamet, for one.
