My Animorphs experience and opinions, reflected in the heart of another:

Wow. This hits close to home. I got into Goosebumps in 1994 and grew out of them by 1996, when Animorphs filled that void entirely with the mature themes, nature facts, and body horror that my (conspicuously) transformation-focused brain craved. When I got on the net in '97, I discovered TSA😹.

Simple, cheerful facades can hide complex truths. The result is a series of layered multimedia collages using torn-up figure drawings form college, mid-20th century psychiatric books and materials, actual meat (cooked and raw), and Marc and I's varied associations with a certain caterpillar book.

Steamed Hams, and it's companion EP, Steamed Clams, are a psychedelic gut-punch that I lived inside of for quite some time as I worked out how to visually juxtapose the what-you-see-is-not-what-you-get shell game layers of the "Steamed Hams" Simpsons sketch with the album's interrelated themes.

In the past several years my typos have drastically increased. I don't know why. Spelling errors, homonym blunders, sentence fragments... even under the scrutiny of proofreading. There've been a lot of significant changes in my life. Is it stress? Brain chemistry? Phone habits? I've got no clue.

With Age of Empires, Boss Fight Books is rolling out a gorgeous new visual format (and keeping the original spine style so their 40 prior books will still look lovely on the shelf together.) I loved AoE. Somewhere in my mind, there's still a bunch of little dudes running around building wonders.
