Really enjoyed my interview with English football and 90s aficionado Rob Fletcher about the macro football climate between 1993 - 1997 which helps set the scene for Spurs' journey through the mid 90s.
Its a truly transformative period.
It'll be out this week as a precursor for Season 2.

On 1st August if you'd said that come 18th April we need to win 4 of these last 6 games to 'achieve' our target you'd have been reasonably confident that the squad we have would be capable of doing that (and that the target would have been to make top 5!)
No pod this week - Season 2 is imminent but I have episode 1 still to record so will wait until then and then release a trailer.
I've got 3 Season 3 recordings also scheduled over the next few weeks ๐ค
No home (or away) games against Brighton from the 90s to discuss so no BONUS either.
4 away games at Sunderland in the 90s all remembered here on @spursnostalgiapod.bsky.social.

The contrast between the packed terraces of Roker Park and the shiny new Stadium of Light in 1999 tell us some much about how football moved on the 90s:
Did you go to either?
Spent all day writing scripts for Pod 2-parter about the 97/98 season which included the arrival of Christian Gross, return of Klinsmann and a desperate relegation battle.
Having re-watched the season review and studiously researched our results I'm emotionally wiped! WIll be a great listen though
Wow! I think we probably all had a shellsuit in 1990...though i definitely didn't have a Spurs one!
Great memories - I love looking back at all the merch catalogues as I'd have wanted everything from them at the time!
Please let me know your thoughts?
Does the current situation make you want to listen/indulge in 90s nostalgia more or less?
I don't want to appear tone deaf by pushing my content.
Hi listeners,
I have a question for you all...I have most of Season 2 recorded and lined up and had intended to launch imminently however, owing to the teams current perilous situation I do wonder whether there is the same appetite for nostalgia and whether I should wait for the summer?
Latest 90s podcast episode now live! I spoke with author and Coventry fan Richard Chamberlain about some selected games between Spurs and Coventry during the 90s (thus avoiding the need to dissect a certain FA Cup Final from the 80s ๐ซค)
We also talked Robbie Keane!

Latest lookback episode out here - pod.fo/e/3845d6
What do you remember about home games v Man City in the 90s? 7 fixtures to remember (before they got relegated - twice!)
Also a bit of a chat about how our crowd responded to under pressure managers in the 90s too.
Please listen and reshare!
Darren Anderton listed this as his greatest Spurs memory when I interviewed him in episode 1. For continuity I was obviously hoping he was going to pick a game from the 90s! But I can't disagree - this surpassed any memories of great games I'd been to.

Gazza is just one of many connections between Spurs and Newcastle.

Season Review of 91/92 - a year in which we were cup holders, changed coach, chairman, said goodbye to a talismanic forward and crowd favourite...and went on to have an incredibly poor season with insipid derby defeats to Arsenal and Chelsea before xmas ๐ค

Coming this week...it's 91/92 season review with Jason McGovern.
We were horrific at home that season with just 7 wins (from 21) - 5 of those were against the bottom 5! We finished 15th but did have some fun in europe and reached SF of League Cup.
It's always been a hoot following Spurs eh!
Scholar was infatuated by Venables and made a beeline to appoint him.
Did it prove to be his ultimate downfall though? He'd later describe Venables as 'the man with the silver tongue'.
Mihir Bose discusses Scholar's relationships with all his managers on this week's pod:
pod.fo/e/35ada9
What do you know about Irving Scholar? Like Sugar and Levy its fair to say he divides opinion even 35 years after leaving the club.
Take a listen to my latest pod with Mihir Bose as we reflect on Irving Scholar, becoming a Plc and his lofty ambitions for Spurs and english football.

Poor old @iain.coys.social has listened to approximately 340 hours of post-Arsenal defeat podcasts...if you want to listen to a review of a game against them we actually won (that features Nayim) make sure you give this a listen.
It might warm your heart at this difficult time!

Thanks Beth! At least we kept them honest in that '96 game for 87 minutes ๐
Latest episode now out...
John Sheridan is a really lovely man and I got a huge amount of my interview with him.
It builds neatly on the chronology following the 91 FA Cup Final but John's personal story is also a compelling one.

Hi Adam, thanks so much for listening. They're completely timeless so can use international breaks like this to catch up! Yes I suppose so...they're probably of similar age and grew up in East London.
