Honestly, had I discovered fungi as an undergraduate I might have had a completely different trajectory. I find the interrelationship between fungi and plants (especially plant roots) and fungi networks to be just about the most fascinating biological thing in the world.
I’d do two things:
(1) I’d get back into shape.
(2) I’d read.
A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....

This is exacerbated at the airport by my general flight anxiety. I like to get there. Find my gate. Find a snack or bathroom (if necessary). If we pile time anxiety on flight anxiety, that’s too much anxiety.
