Just WOW! The thing that really shines through in these episodes is the Direction of Douglas Camfield. Every shot is crafted so meticulously. These feel like era defining episodes. Adrienne Hill gets to shine properly. Thank you @filmisfabulous.bsky.social
They are on YouTube in the US
Quick iPlayer tip. If you want save time finding the episode tomorrow, watch the end of Galaxy 4: The Exploding Planet (animated) until the play next episode button appears and then exit.
The next episode currently in the system is Day of Armageddon, but that should change…
EXCLUSIVE - AI Enhanced Doctor Who The Daleks' Master Plan coming to iPlayer.
Quote from iPlayer Press Officer Ida Vilmcann:
"We know how much fans love AI and Easter Eggs, so to celebrate the missing episodes coming back, we thought we would combine the two."
I can’t believe anyone at BBC Studios thinks this is acceptable
Thank you.
Great post Matthew. It truly is such a shame to see them take this route when their restoration work on previous sets really shines and speaks for itself! Here’s to hoping the BBC can resolve this for the sets that have been infected with it, as well as future sets
Paul Vanezis restores Blake's 7 whilst Peter Crocker restores Doctor Who.
The originals aren't there though. If there were non AI restored episode on the box set then fine. But they aren't.
Oh it's brilliant Lee.
It's also worth 👉politely👈 e-mailing BBC Studios to express your disappoint. I have two e-mails for them.

I think the BBC have the full rights.
Splitting the release could potentially speed up the animation process, rather than have to wait for all 7 (or 8 including Mission) episodes to be completed. It also means if Film is Fabulous were to find an odd episode in the next couple of years, there is now a home for it.
Thinking about how to the release The Daleks' Master Plan physically, I like the ideas a few people had of splitting the release in two and only animating the missing episodes.
This is how I think a release like that could look.
It’s be pointed out to me that I left Wheel in Space 6 out of the list. It wasn’t mentioned in DWM.
Thanks Toby. Really enjoyed the content you've contributed to the announcement. Good work
In 1981 Doctor Who Magazine published the first comprehensive inventory of the BBC's archive, listing which Doctor Who episodes existed and were missing.
45 years on, 41 episodes have been returned to the archives. Here's a recreation of that list followed by how it stands in 2026.
The standard version is the new fixed version. You can just swap the discs.
Yes that's the issue that's been fixed.
If you have the 2023 limited edition release, then the discs will need replacing. To claim send proof of your original purchase and a your address to DVDSupport@bbc.com
There’s a great video by Paul Masters on YouTube where he talks about his memories of watching Rose being filmed in 2004. With photos and video from filming. Very interesting and worth watching.

Mine hasn’t arrived yet. But that’s what others are getting
Some notes about the War Between Blu-Ray
♦️- It’s locked to Region B
♦️- The full Whoniverse ident plays before each episode
♦️ - There is an error on The Sea Devils where the subtitles are forced on. Only way to force them off is if you have the option on the players’ settings.
Judging by disc count, I believe the Steelbook version of The TV Movie is the only 4K release that includes the Blu-ray version of the film. The standard 4K release is only 2 discs as opposed to 3.
For those who want to understand the different versions of The TV Movie.
Soon
The new 4K release of The TV Movie looks incredible! All scanned from the original 35mm negatives. What an achievement
