Guess people didn’t listen to Life In Cartoon Motion by Mika like I did. Didn’t take it to heart

I handled/installed the piece he’s standing by once - it was pretty ingenious - some artworks are smarter than others - and the insides of the segments are interesting, all wood and scribbles, so rough and organic compared to the exteriors

The sexual tension between two drunk straight dudes in front of the dive bar rn is insane

Every single thing that began as a "feminine" and thus "less worthy" trade is now male dominated: brewing beer/ale/sake and making wine was traditionally always done by women. Now every white dude with a beard and Chacos wanna mansplain alcohol to me.

someday I will show art at a gallery that cares enough about their artists to NOT reformat all my work’s titles and descriptions on a lazy whim !! someday !

A notecard with the prompt, "What is something that was important to you that was taken in a sweep? How did it impact you?" The handwritten statement below says, "My momma’s ashes were displayed on my table in my tent. I came back one day — and EVERYTHING was gone, including her ashes. They were clearly labled 'In loving memory — my mom, my best friend…' and her name. Her ashes were all that I had left of her. No one stored my stuff. I called tons of places and NO ONE knew anything. It is very difficult for me still, everyday. No warning, no remorse, nothing."

When cities clear homeless encampments, workers often take people’s belongings — including important documents, survival gear and irreplaceable mementos.

Over and over, people across the U.S. told ProPublica they were devastated by such losses: https://propub.li/3WScD3g

At every step, the liberal insitutionalists insist that the only valid means of resistance is the rotten husk of their institutions.

Anyone who tries to stop fascism using non-instutionally-approved means will be lectured, scolded, pacified, and — ultimately — violently suppressed by the state. 11/

the teen at Staples can’t print my flyer because their computer keeps crashing. the AT&T worker can’t update my plan because his tablet keeps crashing. these are ELECTRONICS COMPANIES. how lucky we are to live in a time where decades of corporate disinvestment in labor are coming home to roost

It feels like this

I love going to the laundromat and smiling at children and holding doors open for people or them for me and taking a little walk around and sipping my tea while the machines run. just a happy little critter in a little society experiencing a happy little hour in time.

I got my steps today in the neighborhood I live in, distributing flyers for the neighborhood coalition I’m part of creating, bringing money for improvement and events into our area, bitch I participated today and I’ll participate tomorrow

Absolutely - the gesture being made in a bad attempt at edgy humor does not make it any less inappropriate.

Everyone was angry and uncomfortable to some degree or another. I would have said something if the regular hadn’t, but it was a very tense and complicated interaction. He claimed to hate Nazis and was just making fun, but I agree with my friend, the display was unnecessary and triggering.

Varied. Some fell silent. Lots of wide eyed glances at me (bartender) to confirm that it was uncomfortable. A Native friend of mine who is a regular there spoke up first and said “you don’t need to do that here” and the Polish guy was defensive, played dumb even, but backed down eventually.

Bartending at the fall of the American empire is a tricky business

randomly an older Polish man found himself in my inland northwest cocktail bar tonight. Dude thought it would be funny to do some fake sieg heils while dancing like “this is what the nazis do” and, well, people reacted. It was a cultural historical maelstrom. It was a fucking mess

24/7 care of two ailing octogenarians is not light work, folks. I’m averaging 6k steps a day just in fetching heating pads back and forth, like, that’s *before* I pace back and forth in the driveway for an hour to regain my sanity after they’re asleep
