I think the concept of Worst Possible Sustainable Equilibrium (WPSE) is the closest I've come to some kind of grand theory of Trump.

I don’t think of it as sci-fi. Mostly a story about survival, grief, and hope in tough times.
Amazing.
its so cool that literally every job now is understaffed by 30-50%. its great because i didnt want whatever it was done well or with any care at all. but please keep raising prices anyway
rip to all the people excommunicated by the pope for their heresy but im different. and better. maybe even better than the pope
As a liberal Gen Xer, I wonder how much of it is just because of one man. Trump was the ubiquitous personification of success during our formative years (80’s), so there might be an acquired predilection to be suckered in by his bullshit. I keep hoping they come to their senses when he leaves.
Applause for both Canticle and Byzantium.
"Orange man bad" was true & sufficient from the very beginning. Here we are, over 10 years into this shit, and the supposed adults in charge of US elite politics & media just keep ... discovering it. Again & again. Exclaiming. "Gosh, y'know, he really does seem bad!" No shit you f'ing lumps.
Waking up from the dream 4:00-4:30
“The reason why the Artemis mission has everyone so fascinated is because it is a showcase for the efforts of people who are very, very good at their jobs, at a time when the news cycle is dominated by people who are not merely terrible at their jobs, but awful human beings as well.”
Nepal's bonuses work so much better in antiquity, when it can jumpstart your growth and production; in modern it was always inconsequential. I'll have to give it a try with Pachacuti when they release it.
I played as Nepal, France, and Mexico (3 separate games). I feel like I finally got to play the modern age civs for the first time, since the modern age is currently over so fast. There's still a lot of balancing that needs to be done, but I agree that it was greatly improved.
They've got 10 months to finish it before we're shutting that nonsense down.
Perhaps he just doesn't feel comfortable on the left side of the infield.
- For Frodo.
Tilt your head to the right and 4-8 simply becomes a weirdo with googly eyes and a creepy big smile.
Which was exactly the section I highlighted when I read the book. - On point.
That's home. That's us.
This image of home just came down from the Artemis II crew.
Taken after their translunar injection burn, there are aurorae at top right and lower left, and zodiacal light at lower right.

Funniest tweet, baseball category.
Have been thinking about this story all weekend – and considering how wonderfully radical it would be if millions of people took this seriously:
"Perhaps consuming a few dozen book pages a day should become the new 10,000 daily steps — a basic foundation of activity to maintain cognitive fitness."
A $150M Will Smith blockbuster was unlikely to do the things needed to earn that original ending (Neville’s anger and loneliness). This needed to be a A24 film with someone like a Jeffrey Wright or Michael Shannon.
The original ending is the entire point of the story. - If test audiences felt cheated, it’s because the filmmakers didn’t do enough to earn that ending (which in the book is both earned and a punch in the gut).
Over eight million Americans took to the streets today, which makes No Kings 3 the biggest single day of protest in the history of our country. #NoKings
My old ass trying to keep up with whatever nonsense we’re using AI for now.
Naylor will lead the team in VAR (Vibes Above Replacement).
They're playtesting single-civ play, and it might be released late spring/early summer.
the human body was not designed to know what the worst person in the world is doing every fifteen minutes
They're going to write books about all the big brain moves of this gang of imbeciles and among them will be "Spending a year trying to kill renewable energy and then launching a war that sends oil prices soaring"
