Opinion | There’s a Good Reason You Can’t Concentrate

"In 2016 my main concern was helping people find enough free time for deep work. Today I think we’re rapidly losing the ability to think deeply at all, regardless of how much space we can find in our schedules for these efforts." www.nytimes.com/2026/03/27/o...

Making the Strait of Hormuz safe for energy shipments would be a remarkable accomplishment, one that the world has never seen since the beginning of the month.

Munich remains one of the most astonishing films made in the 21st century, confronting the human cost of seeking vengeance after suffering unredeemable bloodshed — and challenging us to contemplate whether there is such a thing as *redeemable* bloodshed.

This is a fabulous interview.

Bill Belichick’s Snub Is a Watershed Moment for the Hall of Fame The NFL already punished Bill Belichick, so why do we need to punish him further by not voting him into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot, writes @ConorOrr:

Silhouette of Batman from Batman: The Animated Series

Silhouette of Batman from Batman: The Animated Series

Were 90s kids clamoring for a Batman cartoon with 1930s Art Deco aesthetics? Is that what the market demanded? Or did some really smart creative people have a vision and make a genre-defining hit that sustained 20 years of TV shows? If you want success look for vision, not just metrics.

My number one favorite thing about being a director is that I get to surround myself with experts. I can have opinions on everything, but I can’t DO everything, and having oodles of experts makes the whole thing so much better! I love not knowing what they know!

I see people saying, "What do we expect the Democrats to do? We don't have majorities in any of the three branches of government!"

But what I'm thinking is: Chuck Schumer's been a public servant since he was 24 years old. When, exactly, are we expecting him to get good at it?

Imagine if early in Obama's first term, in the face of a Democratic supermajority passing the Affordable Care Act, Republicans merely shrugged and said, "What do you want us to do? We're out of power!"

And then just waited for the next election.
