Jennifer Horgan: We have set a new standard for what angry men can achieve. It's terrifying Angry men's blockades stopped my mother being with her dying brother-in-law last week. She was not the only vulnerable person whose needs were trampled on

The #Census26 archivists are heroes 🤩

@rte.ie Nationwide is doing a fab deep dive into it all! Conservation of 2,496 books of census sheets, 700,000 forms, 3,000,000+ lines of data = the people of 1926 🥰

Legally we’re not allowed to see the input until

This council home in Cork city centre has been boarded up since 2024
City council say they haven't resources/budget to bring hundreds of homes like this back into use
Despite dire need of so many
Yet they wrote off €3.7m in derelict site levies rewarding property hoarders & vandals

God this is awful. I just skim read the judgment ... have lots of thoughts!

Disappointing High Court judgment today suggesting deportation of a parent is less traumatising for a baby than it would be for an older child

If only there was some history in Ireland of enforced separation between babies and parents that might have suggested a different conclusion

position, I have lots of friends who did the same or change professions completely. It is an incredibly stressful job too with huge resposibility attached.

They definitely do take advantage of that & also I think because it is predominantly women who go into nursing. It is a v complex, technical job, that involves really strong problem solving skills. I think if more men were nurses the wages would be far higher. I totally understand your sisters

Aww he sounds like he was a lovely man. I think it's the little kindnesses people remember ... like I know from being on the otherside too, when you are sick you feel so vulnerable & you are putting so much trust in others. When I look back on that time I feel v good about the type of nurse I was.

disease so I just knew in my heart it would be just too challenging for me now. But my fav part of nursing was the actual nursing bit, the literal bedside work. Like giving someone a drink when they are thirsty, the basic nursing care stuff.

Oh wow, she has been a nurse a long time. My initial plan was really just to take a break after i'd been unwell. I had always secretely wanted to study law cause i'm interested in social justice issues, loved it so much I did my masters but in among all this I was diagnosed with a neuromuscular

I cannot wait to watch this. I really miss practicing as a nurse sometimes, only worked in A&E/ER for s short time but really all hospital work is so real (& I mean that it terms of a lack of pretence from ppl, vulnerability brings out authenticity) & theres vulnerability all round you.

Well done for this, will be great if they make the shingles one free to over 65s and immunocompromisef people. I dont know why they didn't just make the vaccine free for all children tbh - lack of foresight again.

Yes same happy for future children 😊 I know it's really expensive but i've thought about saving for the shingles vaccine cause i've it twice & it was awful, I know would prob b v bad luck to get it a 3rd time but I feel like bad luck is my middle name 😂😭

Israel is still committing war crimes with impunity – this govt still hasn't taken real action.

Have they pushed for the suspension of the EU-Israel trade agreement? What is stalling the Occupied Territories Bill?

We've asked the Tánaiste directly, but he once again offers platitudes and no action

With this bridge struck, how will people still living south of the Litani continue to get access to aid, food, & medicine? How will hospitals replenish their medical supplies?

The bridge was described to us as a lifeline by local officials and health workers

An unfolding humanitarian catastrophe
