I love having a good stretch, especially when I wake up after a little nap.
Betty thinks my feet look adorable when I stretch.
She says that when she stretches it doesn't reach her feet.
Humans are a bit weird, aren't they?

I hope you don't mind but today's tweet is about the 4 cats that live next door to Betty and Colin's house.
They jump over the fence and wait by the kitchen door for Betty to give them some treats.
They are very friendly and Betty doesn't mind them coming to see her every day.

Auntie Pip took this photo of me. I think she was surprised that I didn't run away and hide when I saw her.
I'm very slowly getting used to other humans and I seem to know which ones are going to be kind.
As well as Betty and Colin, I've also got three lovely Aunties who are my friends now.

It looks like I've got a big tummy - but Betty told me it's called a 'Primordial Pouch'.
She was worried when she first noticed it but some of you knew what it was and told her it's nothing to worry about.
Betty thinks it makes me look even more cute but I'm not so sure.

I had a bit of a shock when Betty showed me this photo.
What's going on with my whiskers?
They look like they are exploding off my face!
I don't mind, whiskers are useful and I suppose the bigger they are, the better.
Would you be happy to have whiskers like mine?

I look forward to my meals every day but I'm a bit frightened of Maurine and run off when I see him.
Now Colin stays with me while I eat and this stops Maurine from eating my food.
Maurine has his own food on Auntie Sammy's plot but that doesn't stop him from wanting mine.

I've got a new friend.
His name is Mike and he came to the veranda to see Mick. (it's confuring, isn't it) He likes cats and he gave me a lot of fuss.
Sometimes humans come to the veranda and they are not used to cats. Betty says I've made a lot of converts.
I hope that's a good thing.

Betty covers up the plants in the Big Greenhouse every night so they won't get cold.
She puts a special thing called 'fleece' on them for the night and then takes it off in the morning.
I didn't know there was such a thing as 'plant blankies'.
Gardening is a funny thing, isn't it?

Betty's been busy sowing sweetcorn seeds.
She grows a lot because she sells them for charity.
I think humans who grow things from seed need a lot of patience.
I like to keep her company in the Big Greenhouse.
I think she is very impressed that I don't try to walk on the plants.

The problem was that I wanted to be left alone.
I wish I'd been more like him but Betty says we can't turn the clock back.
What have clocks got to do with anything?
(Thank you Auntie Rachel for another lovely photo)

I heard that the allotments were saved 7 years ago. Robert was very involved and he didn't mind a bit!
He really loved meeting people - he was the opposite of me.
He used to come and visit me on my plot and I know he wanted to be friends with me.

Auntie Rachel and I went outside for the photos.
The trees are still full of flowers but they might drop off soon.
At least we've got photos to remind us how pretty they were.

A tremendous victory. To this day, I'm convinced that the wise old soul Robert was destined came to the Allotments to save them and the cats who lived there. ๐Ÿ˜บ

(Betty) SAVING THE ALLOTMENTS - 1 of 2

It's 7 years today since we won our fight to save the allotments.
The Council had planned to close our allotments and use the site as a car park.
Robert led our campaign and came to all our meetings. He was featured in newspapers and on the TV news.

What do you think of this?
Someone gave it to Uncle Mick because they didn't want it so he brought it to the allotments and put a plant in it.
I really like it.
I think it's good to use old things instead of throwing them away.
Do you agree?

You were one of the most beautiful souls I've ever met in this life. You will always be missed, dear Robert. I know your gentle spirit will always remain at the Allotments and with the other wonderful Allotment cats who came after you, to find a safe and loving home there. ๐Ÿ˜ป

I can't believe it's 4 years since Robert left us.๐ŸŒˆ
he came to the allotments in 2017 and made himself at home.
He loved all the humans, whether they liked cats or not.
I knew little about cats but he showed me what I'd been missing.
Rest in peace beautiful boy, we will never forget you.

These trees in front of the veranda are full of flowers now.
I've heard the humans talking about the wonderful 'blossom'. Now I realise it means 'flowers'.
Maybe it's only for special plants, I've never heard them talk about the blossom on weeds.
What do you think, do weeds have blossom?

Uncle Mick has tidied up my Bed-Table and I like it even more now.
He put it against the wall so the beds can't fall off.
He changed the table for a different one. He said the old one was 'Rickety' and I think I know what that means.
It's the same as 'Wobbly', isn't it?

Yesterday the humans had a thing called a Coffee Morning in the veranda.
This human with a big beard always makes a fuss of me and I really like him.
Auntie Sally gave Uncle Mick a little present to thank him for being such a good neighbour - wasn't that nice of her!

Can you see that big machine near the tree?
The Council sends it to cut the grass for us.
There is a lot of grass at the allotments and it would take a very long time to cut it without that thing.
I used to be frightened of the noise but I'm used to it now.
I just keep well away from it.

I love this photo Auntie Rachel took. She always gives me a fuss when I do this and I haven't tried to grab her hand,,,,,yet.
I don't think she would mind because she is used to cats.
I've heard some humans say they are 'allergic' to cats.
I wonder if any cats are allergic to humans?

I love sun-bathing, it's one of my favourite things to do.
It's been quite sunny here recently and I've made the most of it.
It is still a bit cold at night but that doesn't bother me.
My fur coat keeps me nice and warm.

Auntie Rachel has been busy again - tidying up the Memorial Garden and taking photos of me!
Betty says that I look like a model but I'm not sure what that means.
I don't do anything special, it's Auntie Rachel and her camera who do all the work.
Betty loves this photo of me, do you like it?

Do you remember the rolled-up mat I showed you last week? Betty decided to move it to the veranda yesterday.
She put it on the big table in the veranda and put a nice soft bed inside.
She didn't show me where it was but I found it straight away.
It's my new favourite bed now.
