Prioritising world building over narrative and characters is a big issue for him (and others!)
World building is like a nice rug. Brings a room together, but isn't necessary to make a room a room

I feel like no matter how badly they do (with some limits) they should do a full term. As a voter, I want to reserve the right to do my part to vote against them. Not have that choice taken away from me
I'm reminded of Zack Snyder saying that Batman v Superman should have been a 7 hour movie to fit in all the story.
If you can't fit BVS concept into a tight 120 mins, you just aren't a good at telling stories
One day, there will be sane, level headed and competent people in positions of power again
Just realised its Negan vs Glenn again, only Glenn wins this time ๐ช
The issue (for the rights owners ans studios) is that the movies told a definitive beginning middle and end with little space to turn it into a big pile of content.
I'd say thats a 'them' problem.
His one imperative appears to be to remove anyone who might pierce his ego or say no to him. And will bring low his own country for that sake
'He'. One man. A single bloke. Who is causing utter chaos around the world. Across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East.
How did we end up here?
Not only that, if you start watching when you are 15 years old...you will likely be in your 30s by the time it wraps up
I think this highlights the importance for a story to have an actual end. When it keeps going well beyond its end point, then you tie yourself in knots trying to one up the last 'worst' threat and keep 10 different plot threads spinning
The lesson the last 10 years has hopefully taught is to not bail him out here. This is his foul up - make him suffer the consequences. He will not thank you for getting involved and will throw you under the bus when the next fuck up comes
This is the no win scenarios he is best at. Join in, and he can lord it over them like the domineering prickly he is. Don't, and he'll pass the blame onto others, coz nothing is ever his own fault
My love of alpacas continues unabaited
Quite! But without the self-referencial parody of it
This whole thing is like the people who shout at the TV during a football match, actually being allowed to become the coach and then screaming their way through their incompetence
It is deeply dispiriting that all this chaos is being led by the most insecure men in the world. Both of whom were TV show hosts
Would love another season of BrainDead - a show that explains all the the political turmoil and extremism, is because of space ants. Great satire, and funny executions.
I wonder if a reboot/fresh start might be better...lest the revival start with 'there's been 20 years of crazy space adventures with the crew at their peak! That all happened off screen'
Very easy to get caught up in an exciting adventure with glorious victory ahead. No one wants to think about the picking up the pieces part afterwards. Starmer is right to keep arms length from this impending mess
The whole region was like a Jenga tower that was teetering on collapse, which each player cautiously pulling pieces and planning their moves. Then a demented bull backs over it by accident and the whole thing collapses and now we have utter chaos...for no good reason
He does not want to take responsibility or be wrong. So throw out 5 different outcomes, if one comes true, BAM, it was all part of the plan. If it all goes to hell he'll wash his hands and pretend it wasn't his fault
After an extensive check behind the sofa cushions and investigating what happens when you microwave a harddrive, I have concluded there is no actionable evidence. Now can we drop it?
I wonder if they had Theresa May in mind...a steady if dull hand at the helm, constantly being weakened by a charismatic firebrand loved by the membership behind her clearly angling for her job. Didn't end well for her, likely wouldn't have ended well for Starmer
Guess he forgot he wasn't talking to a friendly Fox News host
Say yes...and he'll just be back soon for the next demand
