It wouldn't work, and after the installation fixes didn't work I just uninstalled it all and downloaded the trial from a link in on an old Autodesk account. And now there are fewer things being installed? I could have Googled at least 20 Blender questions by now.

I need to do something important that's time sensitive; I can't spend however long constantly searching 'how to do X in Blender'. I'll just use this trial and then put my computer in the bin.

I've fucked up and I'm cornered.

Been backing up stuff to iCloud recently, and just spent a good while trying to understand why 'IMG_1488.HEIC' wouldn't upload... and then I realised. I kind of get it, but it seems kind of silly to ban a *filename* using that number. Anyway the image itself is great - will rename to catspider.HEIC.

I switched to Affinity Photo and that’s pretty good. One time payment with a perpetual license. They have a Illustrator-like program too.
