Timber paling/picket fence is my vote. Build timber side fences at my place which look great. Will replace the pool fencing along the carport one day because it looks awful.

Agreed. Though it doesn't seem like their efforts had a significant electoral effect, their breed of disinformation threatens to undermine the ambition we need to see from Labor.
We need to discredit and counter these groups if we're going to overcome resistance and hit targets.
Peter Dutton laughing about climate change induced rising sea levels lapping at the doors of Pacific Islanders alongside Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison. Peter lost his seat, and the election. Huzzah!
Dutton ignored the rising tide, and it took him whole.
“How Does Paris Stay Paris? By Pouring Billions Into Public Housing.”
“1/4 of residents in the French capital live in government-owned housing, part of an aggressive plan to keep lower-income Parisians— & their businesses— in the city.”
Paris innovation isn’t just about people-places & bike-lanes.
Photo looking down on the slayed cover of Royce Kurmelovs' book 'Slick' with a can of beer beside the book. Recommend both the book and the beer.
Thought this was appropriate to finally read while without power following tropical cyclone alfred having ventured to make landfall very, very far south of the tropics.
Hopefully not a recurring feat.
Raked carport roof from above showing temporary ratchet straps to prevent roof sheets flying off in the coming cyclone. Straps will stay on for the time being though new screws to compliment the nails probably fixed there in the 60's certainly reduce my concern the straps would be needed. Trees and house in the background.
Me giving the thumbs up to my handy work with car port roof behind me.
Spent today and yesterday making our place safe and helping out around town to prepare for a !!tropical cyclone!! on the Gold Coast.
Biggest concern was the carport which now has roofing screws (not just nails) holding the sheets down and some structural reinforcement to keep it upright.
Stay safe!
I'm sorry but why is the ABC sending notifications asking "Does the PM deserve to keep his job?"
We have an excess of commentary on the personalities of politics and a dearth of meaningful policy examination.
It's not a race, it's the future of our country. Can we please treat it like it matters?
Oh those figs 😋
In a world where the uni sector is under so much pressure, it is so refreshing to see investment in expanding access especially in places where it would have been unthinkable not long ago.
Essentially we should trait AI like that over confident student who happens to be prone to plagiarism, oversimplification and occasionally outright fabrication.
Facebook Notification recommending that I follow the account of Morgan C Jones.
Morgan C Jonas' Facebook profile disclosing that he is the president of the Freedom Party. Further down the page he promotes DOGE, MAGA, and a raft of far right conspiracies.
Why is meta sending me recommendations to follow far right extremist politicians?
Excellent site for a wind farm!
Potentially no native clearing, existing roads, tall enough to avoid impacting bats, and near to the states largest load.
Dutton’s latest claim that the Coalition’s #nuclear policy will cut electricity bills by 44% has been slammed as “either dangerously ill-informed” or a lie – and new modelling shows why
I think we need to challenge politicians who pull out the old "1 in a century event" while downplaying/denying climate change and reversing progress.
Particularly in an article that provides dates which show increasing frequency but doesn't mention climate change.
I had an anti renewables pro nuclear community member suggest exactly this.
When prodded, they explained that nuclear energy did away with transmission and was sent from the power station to their home via the nucleus.
Sounds exciting!
The biggest risk to energy prices and reliability is ageing, unreliable coal fired power stations breaking down
The quicker we build new renewable energy and storage the better
Again, sounds just like the LNP who rejected free lunches for school kids as socialism but support making long lunches a tax write off for business.
But such a nice trail to start and end each work day!
Maybe you need a folding handsaw in your pannier for such trail maintenance occasions 😅
Again, we don't need to look to the US to see Trumpian plans unfolding.
The LNP in Queensland have stopped wind approvals, cut renewables investment, and poured billions into coal power in the 3 months since being elected.
They're not only delaying climate action but risk sending industry offshore.

We don't have to look to the US to find sickos fixated on young people's gender.
Queenslands LNP are full of them, and they're gleefully sacrificing a small marginalised group to press on with their culture wars.

I wish I knew the answer.
I've been going though the same experience and it's really not fun.
I'd steer away from directly confronting him on broad issues though lest you risk further isolation and burrowing in.
Good luck
Genuine question: Is there an equivalent whatsapp group advocating for renewables and against nuclear?
Outside feels dank at 25 and humid. Down from 36 today (car said 41 while driving the M1).
Photo of coffee cup from above with imag3 of earth on the coffees surface Text reads "Can you tell the difference between caffeinated coffee and decaf? If so, you have detected a concentration of 400 parts per million (ppm). There's more than 400 ppm of carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere. Small amounts of powerful substances have big effects." Source: CLIMATE.NASA.GOV
For the uptick in accounts proclaiming that 0.04% of something in the atmosphere can't possibly cause any meaningful effect on the climate.
The amazing thing about Peter Dutton's claim here is that while he make it sound like a difficult task, this would actually be a slower roll-out than what was likely achieved in Australia 2024.
A quick thread with numbers:
The big failure of this moment will be progressives not capitalising on this to gain support for massive electrification.
Vic prem set out an ambitious household electrification program. Fed MPs should be backing them in with more $$$ and vocal support.
If only there was a Brisbane (or even better, Gold Coast) event! No live stream or recording?
Post that spurred this thought below.

It is remarkable how bent the tech bros are.
Tic toc essentially fabricated its ban then salvation by Trump, so he can be painted a free speech hero to young users.
How do we combat that level of fasc orchestration?
Certainly not by relying on corruptable online spaces.
Meet your neighbours folks.
