I have no real ill will towards bluesky but it's worth saying that "mastodon.social is being DDOS'd, so much for your ~true~ decentralization" fails to land when, in cases like this, 75% of the fediverse remains operational, vs. -1.4%- of bluesky. mastodon.social and bsky.app are not comparable.

I grew up a devoted NY Rangers fan, which is so batshit because I am literally from NJ and I’d get way more mileage as a fan of the Devils overall, but Buffalo is a team I have like, 0 opinions of. It’s like asking me what I think of the Bengals. Why would I think about this team?
Like this has nothing to do with my opinions of Boston because I love Boston with all my heart and soul and I miss it dearly every day of my life, but there is just something inside me which dies when I try to root for the Bruins. I can’t do it. It’s not right.
Barring the fact the Bruins are an object lesson in toxic masculinity, their style of play is a synecdoche of Boston _as a city_ in exclusively negative ways. Watching them makes me feel like I’m in danger. I hate them so much.
Here’s the situation:
I lived in Boston for 11 years. I have openly supported the Patriots during the Brady days. But I simply cannot root for the Bruins. I _hate_ this team with every rough and ragged fiber in my body. I have never even _been_ to Buffalo but I am rooting for the Sabres here.
