i forgot my pallet of tomato seedlings outside during the storm last week and one of the pots got vaporized by a gigantic hailstone. i was able to save the rest. i also now have 7 healthy butternut squash plants that I plan to use for barter.

In fact the only story I’ve been able to remotely verify as true was about a woman who was comatose almost buried alive but was rescued at the last moment when she woke up in her casket. She went on to recover and have another child and the story ended, no shit, “…and that child was Robert E. Lee”.

B and I recently discovered this wild 90s show called Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction hosted by Riker where they show “reenactments” of “events” and you have to guess if it really happed or not (spoiler: none of them happened, they’re all urban legends, you could just lie before the internet).

There are many, many things about working IT at a large University and continuously being consolidated and realigned that absolutely suck but the one good thing is now I work in an IT unit with the meteorologists and one of them offered to pull data on the wall clouds/funnels I saw on Tuesday.

I started work early today and forced myself to bang out a bunch of stuff so I can devote my full energy to Monitoring later.

I’m amazed ours stayed on, it was pretty dicey there for a sec. My buddy lives on the south side by the sewage plant and I think they got hit by a wicked downburst, took out all of their trees.

I zoomed in on the warning box and my house was one block inside the warning lol.

the one south facing windowsill in my house is thankfully also one of the only places the cat can’t get to and also quite long. and chaotic.

the library gives away free seeds and I have gathered many packets over the last few months and now I am going to try to grow them all. i’m an extremely middling gardener, but I’m gonna try my best. I also have $0 to contribute to this project.

Completely forgot to give my cats dinner tonight bc they did not scream for food until now and it really gave new meaning to that Mitch Hedberg joke “I got a parrot and the parrot talked but it did not say ‘I’m hungry’ so it died”.

Yeah, as soon as the sun goes down I’ll get the fans in the windows and blow in some cool air! I think we are getting rain/storms later so it will be nice.

Yeah, the lack of leaves on the trees is making it muuuch worse. We have all the windows open but there isn’t much breeze.

It’s 76 degrees in our house and rising, I will not put the AC on in March but I WILL consider it at some point this evening.
