It is a brutal time. Hunkering down & connecting better is good in all scenarios. Many people need safe places to be. We need new collective models & need to remember that “we” are the majority. Closed primary elections & misinformation has left us to be governed by cowards & a tiny cruel fringe.

I hope some Boise peeps take you up on that. Very sweet.

Idaho Peeps, it doesn’t look good. No one’s going to save us but ourselves. I think it’s time to act accordingly. Connect, pool resources, reach out, create safe spaces, care for each other. Think beyond our circles. Network. Develop code/signals. Plant gardens. Stay low key. Be good to each other.

Once I thought the man had a soul. I am so sorry he does not and this is Idaho’s ugly state of being now.

On any issue… this is the answer…. “because Trump does not give a shit about them.”

Or the culture needs to exit this dystopian nightmare.

It’s almost like he is remembering the things actual Idahoans believe in.

Is it really acceptable for any president to have a $75 billion private army?

Yes yes yes.

I’m so sorry. It’s beyond brutal and unhinged and designed to make us all forget that this tiny group of people are exacting all this terror on good human beings against the will of the majority and to the detriment of the Idahoans they are supposed to actually be serving.

Yeah. You are correct. It's next week. Sorry to give you all a whole week to imagine the fun. Next week. Same sentiment.

Read this. This is your governor who DOES have power to do something choosing not to fight for you, your kids, or your community.

So glad you didn't either. Apparently much of the world would rather do something less soul killing for the evening.

I'd rather have bamboo shoved under my fingernails.

Just wow. So someone thinks the whole Epstein thing is going to legitimize protecting all kinds of rapists? Such a fine public safety stance. Do better, Idaho.

Yeah, I usually watch the SOTUnion. Tonight, no. You couldn't pay me enough to watch that sadistic drivel.

I mean when your moderates are defending ice violence, firing a human rights commissioner for reasonable criticism, and the rest are voting yes, every day….

The Republican brand is at an all time low today, especially in Idaho—a bunch of racist, queerbashers intent on demolishing public schools and forcing people with disabilities into institutions. Who would run in this party?

Let’s be clear, nuclear fuel rods are MORE deadly AFTER use in a reactor. Yet now Dept of Energy gets test & run new power reactors in Idaho w/out public scrutiny or review of safety & potential harm to water, air, soil & wildlife? Where EXACTLY will they store the new waste for thousands of years?

Screenshot of an X.com post by The Associated Press (@AP) stating that dozens of immigrant families protested for better treatment behind fences at a Texas detention facility, where a 5-year-old Ecuadorian boy and his father were sent after being detained in Minnesota. Below is a video thumbnail showing a crowd gathered outdoors along a fenced walkway; many people wear bright blue or red outerwear, and some hold signs.

After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

Oh!!! Hello from Idaho. Tonight here the river is frozen and still somehow the water winds its way through, pushing channels in the ice to the ocean. The country may be in pain but it is so nice to virtually meet you. Thank you for YOUR fight for queer kids in KY. Excited to order YOUR book.

For all who died in ICE custody, for Alex & Rene Nicole, for those shot by ICE & survived, for the injured, scared, detained, for the many who died in fishing boats & when bombs fell on their city, for all those suffering & in pain from cruelty & neglect of this president, I lit a candle tonight.

@williecarver.bsky.social I am deeply honored by your lovely words on behalf of my book— In the Arms of Mountains: A Memoir of Land, Love, and Queer Resistance in Red America. Thank you. 🦄 May we both help the world see the pain and beauty of queer people in politically hostile rural places.

Ugh. Just do something for humanity like make housing affordable and leave us alone.

Yeah. That handful of shows where the main humans have the most stunningly humane and compassionate responses to circumstances that make most others act like shits… gotta love those shows—The West Wing, This is Us, Ted Lasso…. Bless ‘em. Times like these we need ‘em to restore our faith in humanity.
