Reading poetry for IHLR last semester was a joy—send us your stuff!

So far, we’ve been welcomed to Lubbock with open arms. I’m proud to be part of the English department here, I’m invigorated by a university that values scholarship and art. Starting over is hard, but I have no doubts that this was the right move for our family.
Wreck ‘em!
DSU taught me so much about being a teacher and a colleague. Andrew and I were very happy in that community for a long time, but they’ve cut the English and history majors (among others), and there’s no room for us in a place that has no room for the humanities.

Since the semester has officially started, I should probably announce that I resigned from my tenured position at Delta State and am now an Assistant Professor of Practice at Texas Tech…

I went to New York and took, like, two pictures. Also, my son is 6 months old today.

How long can I justify hiding in said bathroom?
Went out for the first time since I got pregnant tonight (14 months or so). Forgot how much of going out is just men telling you stuff and bathrooms that smell like pee.
Take a bite of something fast and get yourself home! You’ve earned it.
I remember feeling like there was something peaceful and bittersweet about my empty classroom when I taught high school. But there was never enough time to relax.

Do you have trans people in your life who you worry might be losing hope? Are you, maybe, one such person yourself?
Or, are you a fan of great writing by incredible trans people and want to read what they're thinking in this historic moment?

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I just ignored mine, but looking at them now, they’re 100% spam, so I’m blocking. Good clarification here!
Thinking of running away and becoming a pirate again. Who’s with me?

It’s hard to think about love lately, but it's also the only thing worth thinking about. @honeyliterary.bsky.social, which centers marginalized writers & artists, is open for subs til 12/16. As Valentines Editor, I'd love to see any form of artistic expression touching on all types of love. ♥️
Look up
The fall of the Roman Empire but very stupid and everyone has phones.
How is this real? He’s under investigation for sex trafficking!
Well I'm fucked.
Had the chance to meet Carolina Hotchandani last week and hear her read. This book has some real stunners!
Looking for poets, poems, and so on? Here's a place to start. No promises that it includes everyone but I tried to get a lot of y'all in here. Some room to add a few more as people show up. go.bsky.app/5oLR4YJ
Haha, yours is great! We gotta let each other know where to find & read our stuff. I struggle with bios…probably because I always overthink it (words and poets, you know?).
