The rebels have liberated hundreds of women, toddlers and babies held in Sednaya prison.

They've also released hundred of prisoners some of which were tortured to the point of forgetting their own identity, others held for decades for speaking out against the regime. #freeSyria

the trick with cats is to make a very fast eye contact then look away, preferably down. never stare or look for long periods as this is aggressive behaviour for them. give a friendly look then shyly look away and only look back every now and then quickly.

If you have a disabled family member that was denied coverage and they were pushed out into the street and left there to die. You’re not only have an insurance case you have a civil rights case.

We should start referring to age as ‘levels” … because being a Level 56 engineer is so much more badass than just being an “old guy”

I’m still losing followers on X and I have only 1/10th the followers here on Bluesky. I’d appreciate a follow and repost, add me to lists, and so on.

It’s hard to be sarcastic if no one’s listening. 👀

In my opinion, the word "smithereens" isn't used nearly enough as it should be. Do you agree???

The vision of a one-square-mile tech campus in S.F. never amassed more than 20,000 square feet Solaris, tied to controversial ‘Network State’ movement, will shut down on Jan. 1, well short of its vision.

Some right-wing tech bros wanted to build an AI-themed “network state” in San Francisco.

Their GoFundMe raised $0. Now their office is closed.

Billionaires in the U.S. are .0005% of the population, yet accounted for 18% of 2024 electoral spending.
Just 150 billionaire families spent nearly $2 billion.
This is not democracy. It is oligarchy.
Time to overturn Citizens United and move to public funding of elections.

A Brexit benefit that helped me trace my Irish ancestry How applying for an Irish passport allowed me to avoid the complicated travel restrictions inflicted by Brexit and trace my Irish ancestry

Now here's a lovely story. 🍀

Many Brits have, because of Brexit, hunted through their Irish past to see if they could get an Irish (and thereby EU) passport.

Every problem opens opportunities. This is a beautiful little story of discovering ancestors - and some tips!

I remember when they banned websites in the early 2000s. I went through the whole list before the ban and looked at it all. Was mostly gore and horrific violence and misogyny …
🤷🏻‍♀️
And most of that was already in the forums they didn’t ban

Blue Sky team, you're building something special and great here. Keep at it. Stick with it. And please don't sell it to an evil billionaire who's going to come around waving a lot of money to gobble it up.

Sincerely, a Happy Blue Sky user.

If you needed even MORE of a reason to switch to Bluesky, China is "troubled" by the fact that they've invested so much time on Twitter buying ads, bots, and influencers... only to see the people they're seeking to manipulate (us) flee the site.

Excerpt reads: Despite bringing back a majority of the workforce, and enjoying success for a couple years, the factory was fighting an uphill battle in the long run.

“The factory suffered from Brooks Brothers owning it too long, from Brooks not investing in basic upkeep or in better systems, and ultimately, the lack of interest in Made in the USA,” Ragland stated bluntly. “Lots of people talk about Made in the USA as being so necessary, but when the rubber meets the road, most Americans want cheap goods which does not make it easy for U.S. firms to survive.”

Where there is darkness there is light, where there is ignorance there is enlightenment, and where there is fear there is bravery. Things are never so bad they can’t get worse and they are never so bleak you should surrender.
