The other night, at the tail end of a long week of dashing, one of our last stops was a little Indian restaurant. It took a while to get the order, they were mopping and getting ready to close. My wife goes in, exchanges pleasantries with the hostess, who offers her a seat while she waits.

I have found success only in tricking my brain. I will find some small thing to do, or some minor task on the project I *have* to do, and tell myself that's all I have to do. 9 outta 10 times I'll accidentally lock in, but only bc I pretended I didn't have to. It's... frustrating, but it works!

Bc you *have* to switch gears. Which turns it into structure. Which the ADHD brain chaffs against. You can multitask all day by vibing but the moment you want to be doing something else but have to do this instead, nope, game over.

On one hand, I'm so glad to be transitioning in a time when cute stuff exists in my size, there's quality skincare stuff available & endless resources for makeup and styling online. It's great!

On the other, the economy is on fire and all of those things cost 2x what they should. So that's cool.
