Make the art you want to make and not the art you think will perform well on social media

I think more people should make and share worse art

Its easy to fall into online echo chambers about what "real art" is & how it should be made & worry about likes & follows

but its worth it to take a step back from the internet and make art for u, especially if it's not ur source of income

My personal philosophy on art: skill level, level of effort, critical acclaim, and popularity are not the only things that make a piece of art "good" or "real art".

A napkin doodle is just as much a piece of art as your favourite painting.

My personal definition of art is: if at least one person considers something art, either as the person who created/curated it or as someone observing/interacting with it, then it's art.
