Haunting vocals-only arrangement of Crash into Me plays as he runs in slow motion towards the screen pursued by a boulder labeled "time"
"The victims or whatever" 😲
If Rogan wanted a logical centrist government he wouldn't have been a vocal supporter of trump, it's just a self-refuting premise even if he doesn't want to admit that the Democratic party is actually that logical centrist party he claims to want so badly.
I remember this argument when ghouls made it in defense of the Iraq war and in opposition of eg the French who Republicans loved calling "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" after a joke from The Simpsons. It'll age even more poorly here.
I get this calculation, but the problem is the main criticism of Dems is they're not constantly enacting roadblocks against the admin, so by shrugging their shoulders at impeachment it only reinforces the notion that there is no real opposition and Dems wouldn't do anything even if they had power
I like this because it articulates the conservative concept of freedom in a nutshell. You have the freedom to do x, except you don't, because I don't want you to. bsky.app/profile/atru...

This is like saying there's "regime change" every time there's an election. There's a semantic correctness to the claim but the actual term refers to overhauling a governance system, not having the existing system of governance replace someone
I feel there’s a dark dark irony in citing the genetic fallacy here
Wasn't that the argument for the Iraq war too? A new vibrant democratic Middle East that would domino into place?
Isn't the President also paid by Qatar?
At the end of the day the big unlock is realizing the only mindset gap holding us back is fear itself, so we need to trust the process, lean in, take the shot, and let it rip

Just a reminder that the “market crash” he’s referring to was the Nekkei correction after their interest rate hike, had nothing to do with the Biden administration, and 2024 overall was a much much better market year than 2025
This is the reverse Pottery Barn rule: "we break it, you buy it"
This is another issue I have with punditry: are you trying to convey the most accurate factual assessment based on your focus of knowledge and understanding, or are you trying to play the odds/trying to make sure the optics are going to be good for you
We’re not going to just walk away, we have oil to steal. But yeah walk away from caring about what happens to the people and their governance, sure
A polite request for a briefing has no weight, it just signals to them that they can keep ignoring you without consequence.
"But I said he's lying" --literally doesn't matter, saying it doesn't cover your butt at all because it's like a reverse "truth sandwich" effect
Pundits are always focused on "how does this play" instead of "is this actually true," and the complication is it's pundits that shape how politicians' statements play. So if pundits are saying "trump is positioning himself as the anti-war candidate," the message they convey is he's anti-war.

I was wondering why my autocomplete always suggests JDAM when I start writing JSON
I don’t expect much from them, but it’s pretty messed up for Republicans to spend all last week saying Dems who don’t show up are “reprehensible” and “disrespectful” only to say the Dems who did show up are “crazy.”
Objectively, the courts preventing trump from continuing his disastrous tariff policy would be a windfall for him. The media’s praise is misplaced, this is a tactical decision from a politicized court
Ten glorious years of a guy who has mostly been the president and always been the main character of American political life doing posts like this and everyone trying to figure out what cable news segment he saw, misunderstood in the way a dog might misunderstand a crossword, and made into policy.
